On SPP I’d love him at crows. Once he learns to steady and kick he’ll be a freak
Composure, giving the first option more often, not always looking to fend and draw opposition, positioning at stoppage etc a decent midfield coach could fix it all pretty painlessly.

Couldn’t agree more. Has that hardness about him that you can’t teach so would be well worth the wait in development I think

Certainly, just needs time to develop composure. Incredibly powerful low penetrating kick, you can’t teach guys to one step kick goals from outside 50 which SPP can do.

100% keep and develop, could be something very special.

I thought we were talking about West Coast.
He didn’t play against West Coast in Perth - he was suspended.

He had a really great patch where he showed what he’s capable of and then as soon as he went to Perth he played poorly. I reckon there’s something in that.

OK fair call. Would be very disappointing if that was the case.

Have people forgotten the second year blues with SPP??? He had a extraordinary situation of his own making early in the year, it set him back but he has tremendous upside and will be a great player in time.

I forgot it's silly season now, so here come the funny old ideas. Why not lose SPP and Polec, hell while we are at it let's trade Robbie, Jonas, Howard and Clurey as well. That will be fun

Speaking about our inside mids

SPP and Rocky both played their best footy mid year. We need them both to bookend that with good footy too though next season.

Boak I think finished the season well.

Wines played a good game the week after he signed his contract but apart from that I hated his season. Bottling the showdown in particular cost us dearly.

Ebert much too patchy and is just a role player now, a role player that most weeks doesn’t even have a defined role.

Not quite that simple.

It was 14 and 34 for Polec, 21 and 45.
And WC got Yeo for pick 28 when he was showing signs of being an AA rebounding defender. I was really annoyed with that deal, it was a steal. We on the other hand played fair and had the Crows up our arse as usual. I want to see WC demolished this final series for many reasons.

Kingy on SEN suggesting Port should trade Wingard. What drugs is this guy on? We have lots of problems, Chad Wingard is not one of them. As for all these claims that he looks disinterested I just don't see it, frustrated yes, had a gutful of playing with absolute amateurs probably but who could blame him.

What even is Ebert's job these days? **** I hate seeing him in defence, especially in crucial moments. We play so many players behind the ball it's ridiculous and Ebert cant kick to save his life most of the time. We need anyone that can't kick to stay out of the defensive 50 where turnovers are so costly.

Imo Ebert should be a full time tagger or play somewhere along the wing or half forward/forward pocket. His marking is his strength and if he just kicked to a contest instead of hitting up individual targets, he'd be fine.

David King should stick to writing character references for old scholars who break people's jaws.

Ebert should be playing in Sam Gray's lead up half forward position. He can run all day, presents as a much more likely target and can kick straight over more than 30 metres.

Hinkley is obsessed with fitting as many players in defence as possible. Yeah, we get it mate, you played at half back. Enough already.

Bonner, Ebert, Hartlett, Polec, Pittard, Houston, Byrne-Jones, Trengove, Lienert, Toumpas, McKenzie, Broadbent.
Even Rockliff had a game where he spent 87% game time in the back half. Just stop it mate.

Spot on. SPP and Rocky are crucial for us going forward if they can string together a full season of decent form. Wines needs to get himself sorted, hasn't grown in the past few years and has obvious composure/skill issues that need to be addressed. Boak is playing alright, think people expect too much from him based on his 2013-14 form in the midfield. He is a more than serviceable high-forward who for the time being is better than any other options we have in that position. Ebert is the interesting one - do we try and define a role for him? Has shown promise as an inside midfielder/tagger in the past, can mark well, tackle well and run all day. Has all the assets to be a great player for us but seems to suffer under the current system.
