We are starting to sound like Ninthmond with their continual revamping of a new and shiny five year plan every couple of seasons. There will inevitably be some turnover of the list every year, please stop calling it a rebuild.

A rebuild is what EssADA* will have to do if the blokes investigating them are serious about cleaning up drugs in sport.

Everyone else is just adjusting their list to allow for changes in the game plan, retirees and to replace those on the list with a lack of the skills required by the club.

good point ... the thought has crossed my mind we have been going down the richmond path

not worried abt the coach at all ... think our list has been exposed a little but it is not as bad as the pagan years

actually think our drafting has improved the last 2 years with menzel & cripps who by all reports is a ball winning magnet

I was probably one of the worst (or at least most pissed off) of the sack Ratten gang. But he had his strengths, he built a cohesive team. Unfortunately he wasn't a game day coach, and was out-thought week after week. Mick is a brilliant game day thinker and re-organiser when we're in trouble. I also admire his direct approach to turning over the list to get rid of passengers. What's missing is recruiting and replacing the deadwood. Why the **** are Chapman and Goddard not playing for us? Why do we still have no forward line, year after year?

Where the hell is the replacement for Betts. 40 goals a year and the best small forward in the league for aggression, tackling and determination. He set a standard we aren't meeting now. Having EB meant Garlett had to lift his game to something like his level. It gave our young smalls a standard to meet, and our crumbling forward line some hope that he'd take the crumbs and score. It gave us hope, and a reason to fight. Where is the replacement for that?

I live in Canberra (mock me if you need to) and I don't get any news during the off-season. So when I find we've bagged a broken Magpie and a three-time reject in Everitt I get very annoyed. What the hell is happening? Who's doing the thinking on this? What the hell are they on? How can we raise morale if we weed out out but don't replace?
