Universal Love Player Numbers – 2024 update (sponsored by Tulip)

I saw a mention of Balic having 44 which would mean Smith has moved too. What did his dad wear?

I saw on the Demons Supporter Page on FB that Balic will wear #27, but wasn't actually at training this morning. So I think he has merely mistook Balic for Smith ... Fair to say Schmook has made a bit of a schmuck out of himself on this one .... I'll see myself out ...

That sounds a more likely explanation than the merry go round that I was imagining :(

I wouldn't go by AFL evolution, my game did give Lever #8 but it also gave Balic #31!

(I think AFL evo like AFL live 2 gives a traded licensed AFL player the closest number to their number at the club they came from)

that's exactly what mine did too! lol

Best part of post-draft is trying to guess the number assignments.

Assuming that -
Lever = 8
Balic = 27 and
Maynard = 20

I would like to see the following:
Spargo = 31
Fritsch = 4
Petty = 9
Baker = 35

But my prediction of what will happen is
Spargo = 31
Fritsch = 33
Petty = 41
Baker = 35

My guess:

33 - Fritsch
35 - Spargo
41 - Petty
46 - Baker

I'd leave 4, 9 and 31 out for this season at least. Maybe someone like ANB or OMac has a ripping year and gets one, but I don't think they should go to kids - whether pick one or pick 100 - for a while yet. Probably the three most important numbers at the club, and wearing them should be a privilege.

He was indeed a Melbourne supporter. He and members of his fam were Dee supporters. So he was over the moon to have landed here. Has earned the #4. Although I feel he made #43 his own. Either way, #4 will suit him well. Up and at em, Horse! :D

James Harmes will wear #4 in 2018.

Other Numbers:
Jake Lever #8
Charlie Spargo #9
Corey Maynard #20
Harley Balic #27
Bayley Fritsch #31
Harrison Petty #33
Oskar Baker #35

I know in the scheme of things numbers mean * all but we shouldn't be giving out 4/9/31 to draftees ever.

I'm happy for Harmesy to take the 4 as others have mentioned being a dees fan and likely to stick around a while.

The other 2? Well Lever/Hogan/Oliver/Trac/Brayshaw/Hunt would be the only ones I would offer them to this year or else wait like striker said. No need to rush them their are plenty of numbers available.

I suspect the no 4 thing is good news for Harmes. Indicates the coaches have confidence in him. I do - though it took me a while. He’s come back to training in great shape and looks determined, tail up sort of thing.

Why is tail up an expression anyway? In cats and dogs it just means visible a-hole and I don’t see why that is a good thing.

I like to think it's because when peacocks have their tales up its because they are ready to go.

Viney #12?

12 was his old man. Tyson recently vacated the number 12.
Edit: I just realised you're suggesting Jack goes to 12. I think Jack wants to build his own legacy and is happy with the 7.

Already stated my preferences but i'll go again.

Feel like May might do a Melk and pick a number close to his old one and end up with the #16 but i can see him in the #1
KK feels like a #27 to me
Preuss while i don't believe in assigning numbers to players who played a similar role to a past player, i'd love to see him in either #37 or #40
