I love that we don't have numbers missing for the sake of it. And the OCD in me would love to see Dunkley move to 43 & Bradtke to 45 to fix it.

Now I'm curious as to when was the last time that a rookie pick got such a higher number. If Harley is to get 17 that is.

I think you have missed Pickett wearing 36, M Brown in 38 and Joel Smith wears 44 not 43.

So Bowey has been bestowed with the honour of wearing the legendary number 17. Big shoes to fill.
You're probably too young too remember but Brett Lovett wore 17. Played over 200 games, represented Victoria on numerous occasions and made the VFL team of the year 3 times (Basically the equivalent of AA) yet no one seems to have many fond memories or speak glowingly of him lie they do for other past players.

Was a good solid average player. Nothing more imo. Surprised that he made the VFL team of the year once let alone three times. Got nothing against him but blokes like Steve Febey, Glenn Lovett were much better players than Brett imo.

Hence my point of being underrated. The only other Melbourne players to Make AA at least three times since then are Garry Lyon & Max Gawn. Glenn could of been a star if not for injuries & Steven had a pretty consistent career without being outstanding,

I thought Febes was 3x the player Lovett was personally. Not sure what I missed. 😂
