Looks like there might be a few hints on this souvenir football from the club.:)

all I can see is Daniel Bass 37 wihch must mean Wade has chosen a lower number. that one right under Cassisi number 5? the one on the Sherrin S could be Hartlett and an 8

I think I read on ~the other board~ there's a v's jumper on display at the club now with signatures, if you're interested enough you could go check it out / buy /pre-order your own and get that signed !

Trengove 12?
That's right.
I can't be sure but I think Butcher will be #5. He wore 5 for Mafra over in Victoria, so it wouldn't surprise me.
HH has obviously changed # as has Thompson as has Krak. Krak has claimed #7 from what I was told but it's hearsay.
I'm tossing up between 4, 12, 17 and whatever # Hamish ends up with for my new guernsey.

$190 for an unsigned mass-produced footy - they say 'limited edition' but if even if there's only 500 of them it's hardly that rare or appealing for what it is. How hard would it be to get the squad to go round a room signing them if they're really that rare?

We all love the new guernsey and want to help the club financially, but this is getting ridiculous.

A certain golden goose and its bumnuts come to mind.

If it is anything like the 'limited edition' Gavin Wanganeen Port that set me back a couple $ a few years back, they could write the 'unique' identifying number in biro on the carboard box it comes in. They could even have the footy's 'pre printed' with the signatures ala the Wanganeen Port.

Reckon there are a few bumnuts running the marketing department at the moment.

Whilst im having a crack at the marketing department, does anyone know whether the Major Lottery that was supposed to be drawn 31/10/09 was ever drawn? Ive been checking the public notices in The Advertiser everyday since 11/11/09 to see if I have won........

Its not suprising that supporters are no longer paying their bills to remain members.

That's $95,000 that goes to the club if all 500 are sold. It's evident that the club is trying to raise revenue.

Well yeah, but I'm saying make it worth our while.

$190 - the same price as an adult silver membership - for an unsigned footy that hasn't been kicked in anger by anyone at the club is pretty much a rort.

It's obvious whoever is in charge of merch/marketing is trying to milk the goodwill generated by the 'BiB' revolution for all it's worth, but we have to be careful we don't get overexcited and devalue the image by churning out (overpriced and) tacky potpourri by the bucketful - like the horrendously awful distressed design t-shirt.

Hang on. The club's finances are in disarray, we survive on handouts, the club is looking at increasing revenue in any way they can and how we want to be choosey in terms of devaluing BiB etc etc?

Can't say I agree with you given our predicament. Get the money in and establish the new branding whichever way you can or have too. Worry about the finer details when we are in a better position.

So let's agree to disagree. ;)

agreed
its a footy with a BiB design on it... thats it
for $190 you'd think they could throw them around the players to get signatures... make it a bit special...

a plain footy certainly isnt worth $190 no matter what the design

While i agree we need money.....ripping off members isnt the way to do it... it costs nothing to put in that little bit extra and get players signatures on the balls

For what it's worth I agree with DT on the point that the football should already be signed by the players. If the ball is not already signed by the players don't market it using a picture of a ball that is signed by the players.

I don't have any problem with the club marketing these balls to raise much needed funds but how much would it cut their profit margins if they had the balls already signed by the players?

Edit: What Spadge said

Edit 2: I see the club has now dropped the pic of the ball signed and replaced it with a plain ball.
