Dawes dropped just as many, including an awful overhead miss. See, I too can play the simplistic evaluation game.

Actually, Swan was the instigator as much as Wood, and the other 20 players correctly ignored it as much as possible given there was nothing to gain.

You also failed to mention Wood was the dominant ruckman in the second half.

Yeah, fair enough. I was a bit hasty and did not really look at what else he did apart fron the errors.

I withdraw my remarks unconditionally!

Really do think Collingwood look much better with Wood in their structure.

Watched the game on TV, got the feeling all night that Collingwood just cruised and the game lacked a bit of emotion. Any one at the ground get the same feeling..I actually found it quite a boring game to watch as the result was never in doubt and both sides seemed to know it too..just an observation

Wood is a certainty to stay in this week. I just thought he got to more dangerous positions in the forward line then Fraser has this year. The first goal should have been his. His tap work in the centre was good as well and it let Jolly play forward a bit more with out us losing and drive in the middle.

It was not a great game by Wood but like Reid and Brown we need to give him a few weeks in a row with Jolly to see how they work together.

The only changes this week should be Presti back if he is fit and Wellingham if he is fit. Obree played ok and in years gone by would keep his spot with a game like that but we have moved past that. With Presti its tough who to drop for him. Both Reid and Brown have done well in the last few weeks. I think we need to keep Reid in just for some more drive and Brown and Presti are similar type players so Brown out for me.

Played as a bit-part forward in the first half, but rucked a great deal in the second and was very impressive doing so, against some quality opposition. Obviously the intensity in the second half wasn't all that high, but he looked good for a first up game.

Swan BOG for me today, btw, and by a very significant margin. He was every bit as good in the first half today (when the game was still on) as Judd was against us last week.

I found it interesting watching the replay that the commentators thought Wood let his opportunity slip.

Apart from 1 or 2 errors, which was always going to happen as it's his first senior hitout this season, I though he was very solid and contested well in the center square.

He's clearly a long way away from where Jolly is as a ruckman but he's going to provide great relief for him so that we can continue to get a good contest out of Jolly all year long.

Hopefully we play both against Sandilands and really work him over next week.

I think people are being really kind about Woods performance and I usually defend him. He was quite simply woeful around the ground. There was one instance in the first where he was simply too lazy to contest and sheppard a Johnson shot on goal which resulted in it getting rushed. His only saving grace was his effort in the ruck which was serviceable and the fact it allowed Jolly to rest in the forward line which worked out well. I think he needs time to find his feet but people are defending a very average performance I feel. I think he will stay in and is needed against Freo but he'd want to lift his effort.

As bad as Wood was (which wasn't too bad, maybe a 6/10), he was better than Fraser.

Loved:

Rusty Sidebot
Jolly Roger
Ballsy
Flower boy
Swan (Judd 2.0)
Worst first-round draft pick in recent memory according to the douches behind me, worse than Chris Tarrant and a joke of a player (Ben Reid)
Beej

Loathed:

.... Cheeseman's inside50s?
