Not enough people take in marketability/wages/age/non creepy agent/attitude and so forth when determing a players transfer value.

I think a player like Shinji Kagawa on the basis of actual talent is worth say 8-12 mill. As far as the whole package goes I think hes worth 20 mill Euros easily to most top European clubs. The ability to crack into the Japanese market would mean the man would pay for himself in a very short time.

Same can be said for a player like Neymar. When he leaves Santos fans will follow him wherever he goes. You sign him and you have hundreds of thousands of fans overnight as far as im concerned. All these things are damn important in the real world

Zidane was almost 30 when he joined Madrid. Messi is currently 23. Big difference.

I believe the strikers and attacking midfielders are worth more than the defenders. Its why clubs pay more for them as they are more valueble. There is only so much a defender can do, so there is no point paying for someone who is excellent when you get can someone who is very good. The strikers win the games, as do the midfielders. All you need is a solid defense not an excellent one. Solid attack don't win titles though, need the Ronaldo's and Iniesta types
