Grimes, Didak, Cox, Foley vs Hurley, Montagna, Fraser, Sandilands
Grimes, Didak, Cox, Foley

Foley has huge potential and should average above 100 this season, even if the tigers do bad, he has the ability to score 150+ and tur games on their heads. If he stays fit (surely he will, nobody can be that unlucky) he will be a huge point of difference in your squad.

Grimes isn't even 22 yet, the kid can only get better and the side looks like improving up the ladder too. With James McDonald and Cam Bruce leaving the picture the club will look to him as 1 of its leaders.

Didak is super consistent, all but 4 of his score last season were in the 90s and upwards. Plays for Collingwood, thats all you really need to know. Will easily avg +100

Cox is a freak, super preseason, apparently over his knee and foot issues. Only thing to worry about is how Worsfold will use his sub. (eg. if they are getting flogged and he subs Cox off, etc)

Ive got a few here lads;
Reiwoldt v Pavlich
Boyd v Cross
Knights + 100k v Dangerfield
Rawlings v Boughton v Gilbee

Roo easily
Mt team has gone Cross, Cross, Cross, Cross, Cross, Cross.....Boyd. I'm thinking he is set to move to super elite level this year.
Knights...only as the 100k is handy and you will make good $ from Knights as well.
Broughton easily

i've been waiting longer mike1234......

anyone?

Jack Grimes (if he stays fit)
- Think he will average close to 100, should rotate through the midfield.
- great composure, and great foot skills
- looked very very good in the 1st round of the nab cup

Cross is super consistent, 5 seasons of supercoach and averaged 100+ each year. Last year was his best average of 113.

Boyd has only averaged 100 the last 2 seasons, but his average has improved each year.

Both are fairly unique picks and you can't go wrong with either..
I'd say stick with Cross

Dangerfield has looked like breaking out for a while now and hasn't..

Zaharakis's name has suddenly popped up due to Hird mentioning more midfield time, looked good in the first game of the NAB, but was rested in the second game.

I'd watch his next game and if he performs again, i'd say take a risk, could improve to an average of around 80+

Good Luck..! :thumbsu:

didak v gia v pav v mcglynn

any thoughts

make this a little easier and erase 2.

Gia and McGlynn won't average more than didak or Pav.

So Didak.

Only averaged 100+ last two seasons, but only played 17 games in 09 and 20 games in 2010 (including finals)
Has had a very limited pre season due to torn pectoral muscle.

Pavlich

Averaged 100 + in the first 4 seasons of SC.
Has averaged 99 in the last 2 seasons.
Been super consistent and reasonably durable.
Been a supercoach favourite of many for good reason.
Can't see his average dropping too much, will spend time in both midfield and forward, with freo improving again this year, i expect Pavlich to average around the 100 mark again.

I'd stick with the favourite! :)

Apologies if these have been mentioned before:

Broughton vs Enright

J. Riewoldt vs O'Keefe (already have stevie J, staying away from waite and sylvia due to tribunal indiscretions and as much as I wanna pick varcoe has apparently had a limited preseason so I'm staying away at least until the early multi team bye rounds are done)

Enright should be picked every season.
Very consistent and very durable.

Broughton is a great player, but has missed alot of games over the last 2 seasons.

Riewoldt had a break out season last year and looked great, but richmond are concerned with him kicking 70 odd goals and then the next most from a player was 15.

Expect Mitch Morton to spend some time down forward and take some goals off him.

Always go a forward who gets midfield time over a stay at home forward unless its lance franklin.

O'Keefe gets my vote, has had groin surgery to repair the injury he played with alot of last year.

I agree and disagree with what you say. I agree with you in that I don't think that Jack will repeat last year but I don't think it will be just because of Morton (who I got majorly burnt by last year and will never pick again:mad:). I expect there to be a greater spread amongst our talls (Griffiths if he gets on the park and Post if he plays forward) and our mids to start kicking goals (Houli and Cotch are the ones I think of straight away).

Which leads perfectly into a more difficult dilemna:

Houli vs Adcock

Basically where do I put a mid price player. Both are risks (adcock because of injury, houli because his role is unclear currently). Have adcock atm because I like the mid rookie options more than def but I'm a big fan of houli.

i hear ya buddy..
I was just using one example of why reiwoldt won't score as well, agree with you whole heartedly on the mids kicking more goals..

Expecting Dustin Martin to bomb a few from outside 50 this year..

Adcock V Houli is a difficult one.

Adcock can never stay on the park..

and as you mentioned Houli's role is unknown..

Based on barely any opportunity and what that would do to his confidence and still managed to average 83 over 6 games, i'd say Houli.

Would love him to slot in at half back or on a wing, could see him averaging 90ish this year, and going up $150K..

An average is only has good aslong as the player is accumulating the points by staying on the park.

Who will play more games..

Agree with pretty much all of this and still remain no closer to making a definitive choice haha.

Personally, I hope houli plays a HFF role rotating through the midfield a la Morton last year.

Thanks for the advice mate, good luck with the season:thumbsu:

Here is a tough one, so you have to think about this guys and gals;
O'Keefe and Franklin
or
Goodes and Rioli?

Out of that choice I'd go O'Keefe and Franklin. Unsure on O'Keefe's preseason status though, think he's been injured and will only resume full training over the next couple of weeks. I think Goodes will start to decline and his scoring will suffer. Very inconsistent last year after being thrown around and up forward. Really to be honest though, I'm not in love with either of those Sydney options.

Mine:

Trying to fit another keeper into my side.

Cox and Sylvia/Higgins/Morton

OR

Leuenberger and Didak

Leaning towards top option. Think Cox is set for a big year. Sylvia's inconsistencies worry me though, surely will break out soon or is he as good as he will get? Capable of big scores but also down games where he goes missing. Higgins injury history worries me but he looks to of had a good preseason. Morton moved more into the midfield and scored massive there at the end of last season. Looks set to play there more this year so scoring should increase. Not 100% sold on picking him though.

Thoughts?

I have found myself in a dilemma. So i have a few questions please feel free to give your opinions and critique. I have finished making my team, or so i thought, I am happy with all positions on the ground but, like everyone else I would like to be a contender, so therefor im not too sure about my midfield.

Judd Bartel Sidebottom Martin Scully Swallow EMG Gaff Polec Wallis

Cap : 240,000 left

Opinions, good and bad about the midfield?

Odd midfield to be honest..

What are sidbottom, martin and scully in there for..?
I wouldn't say they are cash cows, as they won't go up much in value..

Are you hoping they become keepers..? as they are certainly long ways off that..?

Personally, downgrade one of them to a rookie, either martin or scully..
Probably Martin, and Upgrade Steele Sidebottom to a premium.

Swan, Judd, Bartel, Scully, Swallow, Mzungu ??

good luck buddy..

My latest one...

Foley and Adcock VS. Broughton and Gaff

I think that is pretty close, clearly the Foley Adcock combo is more of a risk, but i think i'm leaning towards that.

Which would mean a midfield of 4 premiums, Foley and Swallow.
