I've read Otten might be prime for the sub rule, so that could throw a spanner in the works. As it stands I have Otten and Heppell in the midfield. If it is for the backline, I'd look possibly toward Heppell.

They will eventually pick best 22, with the sub being 22nd player. Otten is easily in the top echelon of their players imo when firing.

I would have both lads though

Montagna @ $558,700 vs Boyd @ $517,500

Who do you guys think will pull bigger numbers overall this year? Is Joey worth the extra coin?

Yes. Boyd is frustrating to watch. aaarrrrgggghhhhhh

Had so many fuming moments watching him.

I'd go Boyd, just think the Doggies are in for a big year and the inside role he plays assures of him picking up good numbers week in week out.

Also whats your opinion on Selwood, will he play the same role or will it change not having Gary Ablett there anymore.

Selwood will continue to play as an inside mid, can't see his role changing. He's looking incredibly hungry and his record is awesome when playing without Ablett in the team in the past. No brainer IMO.

Thoughts on the possibly Broughton/Grimes round 16 bye clash?? I seriously forgot about it.. Thinking of getting rid of one of them..

Probably move Broughton to a Enright vs Grundy. other expensive options don't work out

Cross(m4) + Petrie (f6)+14,700 vs C.Ward(m4) + Goodes(f5)+51,700??

going for league win so risking petrie early to save trade.

I would keep Grimes over Broughton. Grundy looking good pre-season, go for something different.

My 2 are

Harris v Liberatore

Fyfe v Mitch Duncan

cheers

Geez Libba and Duncan, just.

cross peetree easily, just imo

Harris over liberatore

Dal Santo & Goodes
vs
Montagna & Sylvia

montagna & goodes!

.

haha well in that case

higgins, goodes and dal santo
vs
yarran, goodes and montagna

like the look of yarran but krakouer is already a risky option in there

Due to old mate Neil Craig throwing Otten's name into the sub ring.

A.Otten vs. K.Cheney vs. R.Tarrant

and

B.Harvey vs. C.Rioli vs S.Johnson

Having Rioli would mean having 2 Hawks starting in the forwards (Franklin).

A.Otten, even though there is talk of him being a sub I think he will eventually cement his spot in the Adelaide team, playing more games and scoring better than the other 2.

Id go Cyril even if it means having 2 Hawks, if you get SJ you still have 2 premiums out in round 6 and I reckon that Harvey, despite pre season scores is on the decline.

Option 1:

Broughton + Bewick + Batchelor

Option 2:

Everitt + Conca + Astbury

Option 3:

Grundy + D.Swallow + Batchelor

A. Otten is good enough to get full time games. I would still go Otten as he will be the better player throughout the year.

Rioli over the rest for sure. Reports are he has increased his tank even more and will spend more time in the midfield.

My dilema is having Franklin and Rioli in the same forward line. In going for a league win.

Franklin + Rioli v Franklin + Pav v Rioli + Pav

Hawthorn only have the 1 bye that counts. Still not sure though. Thoughts?

If you have decent md/fwd MPP coverage and you have faith in your fwd rookies then I'd go Franklin/Rioli...higher risk but ghigher reward & all :)

I'm struggling with the following selections:

Goodes vs Rioli

Cotchin vs Callan Ward vs Nathan Djurka for an underpriced mid
