I'm pretty sure I read that Wood signed a 2 year deal in 2010. And this is what the HUN wrote the other day with players out of contract in 2012 but I'm not sure it's accurate or complete:

Nick Maxwell
Travis Cloke
Scott Pendlebury
Harry O'Brien
Ben Reid
Steele Sidebottom
Heath Shaw
Luke Ball
Dayne Beams
Sharrod Wellingham
Tyson Goldsack

I do not think there are too many concerns about Maxy, Harry,Heater,Ball cannot see them going at all there might be a headline or two but just paper fillers
really it is Cloke Pendes, Reid and Sidebottom that will be chased hard

Pendlebury’s long-term deal comes in the same week that Richmond and Essendon both re-signed one of its star players, Brett Deledio and Michael Hurley, to five-year deals.

Advertisement: Story continues below "I have signed with the Pies for four years and am looking forward to be a part of future success," the 24-year-old wrote on twitter.

It is with great joy I get to update this thread. May it keep me busy over the next few months.

Heath Shaw has all but guaranteed he will be a one-club player by committing to a new three-year contract with the Collingwood Football Club.

The deal means the 26-year-old’s playing future with the Magpies is locked away until the end of the 2015 season.

Ticking them off now. Heater qualifies for Vets list for 2014 season. (10 years at club)

Heater (2) and Pendles (1) contracts both include at least a year on the vets list. Happy days.

If Heater is on the Vet list he debuted Round 17 2005

Trav played round 5 2005 so is he in the same boat as Heater and a vet list in 2015 it would make a 5 year deal back ended for the last two!

Or do they need to be 30 years old to be a Vet

I think it's just 10 years now, but it's also $100k not included in the cap, rather than half your wage, so it can't be exploited too much.

just being cynical but one of the silver linings to all our ACL's has to be that Krak Caff and Ball will all almost certainly not attract interest from other clubs at years end, they should not be straining the cap for us should we retain them all.

The new Vets rule that only includes 100k outside the cap per player really bites us in the ass. Or is it only 100k until they hit 30 and then half gets counted?

Beams, Sidebottom, Wellingham, Reid, Cloke, Ball...that is a lot of quality out of contract this year..
I would rather we keep these guys than the other threads about getting in players (very inconsistent players named to get as well)

With the step-up's Beams and Siddy have taken this year... it is going to be even harder to find the space, then the 2 big guys......

Personally think all this talk for Freo to get Cloke is a smokescreen, i think they are getting us to bump up his price so we may have to squeeze out a player and i think Ross Lyon is after Wellingham. Pretty sure he wanted him for Luke Ball and him being a WA also may be another reason for Wellers to leave.
Im fairly sure Cloke will stay so this is just a gut feeling, no information whatsoever. Probably still wont stop the Herald Sun running with the story

It was half for 2 players but now it is going to be 100k for every player that qualifies.

Not certain about that. It certainly has expanded beyond two players, but I was under the impression that it worked like this:

2 players 50% outside cap
3 players 33% outside cap
4 players 25% outside cap
5 players 20% outside cap

etc.

If it has changed to a flat 100k per vet I'll be pissed off. It accomodates Geelong but screws us, again.

Yeah I'm pretty sure it's 100k flat, not 100% on that though!
If it is that, it isn't an advantage to us at all. I think the afl doesn't want Geelong to drop off!

I think your onto something there, your right about Wellers being involved with the Ball trade that didnt happen but i think we offered NM wellingham for a pick which was then going to the saints?

Being a WA boy they could go after him for sure, he looks like the odd one out in that list even though i love how he plays and want him to stay. I would rather him than Moloney thats for sure.

Situation:

Keeffe is offered..... $100,00-$200,000 at the pies as an extension....? Would that be ball-park?
Hawthorn, (or someone else?) offer him $400,000 to be their permanent FB.

Bye bye Keeffe.

Never thought I'd say this but we need to sign him up!

They'll need to offer a trade to get him.
