It's not uncommon at this time of year.Geelong had around 30 OOC middle of this season but that was unprecedented.

Hawthorn for one will roll out 750k if there are a couple more retirements, the dogs would but that money might be tied up elsewhere. Port will be in for sure. Freo will fall over themselves. So will Sydney if they are allowed to. If the giants rise again that he would fit snugly for their first tilt.

I think the bombers are going to have to show plenty this year (form and $$$) to keep him.

Not saying he is definitely going at all, but high quality 28 year old key defenders who mark the ball are just about the most valuable type that comes on the market, especially for teams looking to contend in those 3-4 years. 4 million over five years would not be too steep imo

And Essendon will have him guaranteed as the #1 priority to re-sign right now. A lot of good teams have thrown money at him before, and he's rejected those before as well. He'll be getting something like that I have no doubt, but I, and all other Essendon supporters, have very little doubt that it will be at the Essendon Football Club.

Not to bad for us. I think of most of those players we want to keep we will sign up. The big risk of that group I would assume is Nick Smith wanting to go back to Vic and getting offered a big contract there & Tippett wanting another big contract.

Parker, Heeney, Mitchell and Jack the priorities. Few other promising kids there but they won't leave. The rest I wouldn't lose sleep over. You'll be blessed if Tippett leaves.
