So i was looking at the delistings list for 2012 recently and i saw a few players
that could add more depth to the list..
what would you all think of these boys

Mitch Banner delisted by Port - tough mid
Brad Symes from Adelaide abit like Mattner, also delisted
Brendan Lee delisted by Essendon but showed promise in his few games this year
Cheynee Stiller delisted by the lions, another one who could be worth it

i think they could and should be atleast rookie listed by the swans if not taken by other clubs,
thoughts?

None of them would add anything to our best 22. I always thought Symes was a handy-ish player. Suppose we could do worse if we were looking for depth in the event of injuries.

With the delistings that have happened already & if Jude stays what is our position as far as room is concerned ? I thought there was some rule where you had to turn over some players but am not sure.

I would think that with a list as strong as ours, that if we only have 2 or 3 slots we would be better off picking youngsters who may could turn out to be anything rather than other clubs discards who at best will be useful. (Even with our history of making silk purses...)

Agree with this, if Tippet falls through pick up as many draft picks as possible, gamble them in the rookie draft.

Symes has no role ln the team or room to develop into the swans best 22. Not for drafting a depth player at his age.

Lee: Defer to others to make judgment but where would we play him and who's he competing for a spot with?

Stiller: No role at the Swans, the defense is too strong the and wont get a game any other position for he swans.

Banner... Look at. Could be looked at for that small mid role that McMeill as bee developed for, .

Ricky Petterd (possibly not gonna be offered a contract by Melbourne), I'd take him in a heartbeat. Simon Buckley to add depth to the defense (if Malceski, Shaw, Mattner go down there's very little there apart from Armstrong). Other than that we're all good :thumbsu:

Maybe for a bar-room brawl.
Brilliant.

Wouldn't be interested in any of Russell, Petterd (though I do think he is talented - we have plenty of options to fill the role he might play), Buckley, Symes, Stiller or Jurrah (he wants to play in Adelaide anyway).

Someone like Cruze Garlett I think would definitely be of value as depth (as SF51 said). We were really so lucky that our best inside midfielders stayed fit all year because we had NOBODY in the reserves to promote if they were hurt.

We do need midfield and defense depth (why I suggested Buckley), I think Cruize Garlett was pretty keen to return to WA. The only inside mid options for cheap I can think of would be Levi Greenwood, Gysberts, Steve Salopek etc

Only player mentioned here worth a look would be Petterd.
Yup, decent player. I always remember him for spilling that mark in the goalsquare against Collingwood in 2010 which would have won it for them. Can't remember if it was the drawn one or the one they lost by a point. Exciting stuff though.
