I have thought of a few and don't bite my head off. They would be rookied
Mark Blake
Andrew Browne
any ideas?
I'd be more interested in developing someone younger, such as Dawson Simpson from Geelong (still contracted but rumours of wanting out)

With Rivers signing to Geelong, Gillies may be a realistic option to have a look at?
Would have to think guys like he & Mitch Brown (of the Geelong variety) would now be on the market.
Guess the question is what do Geelong want (our 2nd rd pick is likely to end up, after FA compo, around the pick 46 mark), does Gillies want more of a chance of a starting 22 spot elsewhere and do we have the salary cap space?
Certainly has looked OK when I've seen him.
We've been fairly lucky with injuries. We have Ted, Reg, AJ & LRT for the 3 KPD spots.
We're a bit light on after that (Spangher, Brown, Lockyer, Walsh). And of that 3 only Brown is likely to be developed as a KPD.
I think we do have the list space, without delisting anyone else.
As I understand it next year all club lists will be 40 (no veterans inside/outside etc, although vets will count for salary cap purposes).
This year we had a senior list of 38.
Moore. Seaby out.
Tippett/White cancel each other out, so 4 available spots.
If Jude quits it would presumably provide enough salary cap space for a ready made player.

tl;dr
Looks OK, not sure if we can get him or he'd be interested.

No more trades, we don't have anything to trade with. Will be filling the rookie list and probably elevating one or two from teh current rookies

This time last year I suggested trading for Jacob Surjan. I recall it wasn't a suggestion greeted with much enthusiasm.

I still reckon he'd be a useful addition to the squad, for depth if nothing else. He would provide back-up for the role Smithy plays, given we have no depth in this area, and might also allow Smith to play in the midfield if we got a spate of injuries there. He's now been delisted so can be taken for nothing and I suspect he would be more interested in prolonging his career at any club that would have him than chasing a paycheck, so he'd probably be reasonably cheap in that respect too.

I have no idea why he was delisted by the Power. I was flabbergasted by that, particularly given how many players they've lost in the off-season. Presumably there is some question mark over his fitness. But I still reckon he'd been a useful, cheap pick-up.

I had the same thought about Surjan but do you think the list management people would be of the list aging too quickly? I mean devoting a rookie spot to a 27 year old on an already old list might not be a great idea.

From the draft i hope we are looking at these blokes if there are there:

McBean,Towers, Colledge, Wood and Rodda. My be a slider so who knows

Still wish we had a firster. Membrey is definitely 'my man' for this draft and will watch his career with interest

Also for future reference will be watching how mccarthy (carlton second rounder 09 from memory) will go the next 2 or 3 years. really like the look of him for a potential KPD later on possibly
