Players under 24 to have a breakout season.

Jarman Impey- Maybe a little inconsistent in 2016 but played some great games. If he can put it all together on a consistent basis he'll be a gun next year.

Mason Wood- Will be best 22 for North if he remains injury free and has the ability to be a dangerous half forward.

Tom Cutler- Tall, fast and loves to take the game on. Had a really good season in 2016 despite missing some games through injury.

You might have gone early on that Impey call...

Id like to see Fletcher Roberts have a break out year in 2017.. Been a bit of a fringe player through the times and gave us plenty of headaches this year. Hopefully his decent GF game gives him a bit of confidence for 2017

Jarman Impey to breakout of jail?

Lovell: Losses of Mitchell and Lewis provide opportunities, can see this kid stepping up, was a massive fan in his draft year.

Himmelberg: Looked very comfortable at AFL level this year, with Patful leaving wouldn't be surprised if he was best 22 round 1.

Billings: After a big pre season (fingers crossed) should continue to build on a good 2016. Will get better as St Kilda does, could be ready for a big year.

Jake Stringer- Due to fitness (broken leg) and need he has had to play forward for much of his career to date, already making the AA in 2015 kicking 50+ goals and even this year kicking 40+ without Crameri and redpath for most of it and badly injured for the last part of the season, he would have missed a lot more games if there were other option to play forward.

the 2017 preseason his his 5th and this will be the start of the player that he was drafted to become, he is now pain free from his leg and with a big preseason he'll be able to build his tank to be able to play longer in the midfield.

The addition of Cloke Crameri and the improvement of Boyd will allow Stringer more time to play up the ground and in the midfield, floating back when needed to create greater mismatches. just remember he doesn't need much to break a game open.

we also seen a more rounded game from stringer after being dropped, when he passed the ball to dickson and picken late in the PF and GF, he would have had a shot in the past. Now with greater options up forward we will see jake doing whats best for side, sometimes that will still be breaking 3 tackles and kicking a snag on his left.

Mason Wood won our 3km time trial this morning. Could be in for a massive year as a running high half forward/winger who can take big grabs and kick goals.

Just before his season ended with injury he completed one of the best half volley collects I have ever seen, Would love to get vision of that, Any chance there is a gif floating around on the north board?

Of course, I watch it... a lot. He's a freak. Could be anything.

Followed by a cracking handball from memory?

He was right on the cusp of blowing things apart before that injury. A suitably sh*t injury in a horrible run of form from North.

If he is able to remain injury free I think he'll play that role you've just mentioned very well as he's definitely got the attributes to do so.

Very flexible. Could easily play as a full forward or half forward / winger. Has more of a body type for CHF than a guy like Robert Murphy who essentially played that role for a few years at the Dogs back quite a while now. He'll be exciting to watch play now with a full run at it and plenty of space in the forward line. Seems a very good foil for Brown too who is a great "structural" player IMO. Brown to run the lines, big leads, big body. Wood with the party tricks and massive endurance.

Ryan Clarke will have a huge second year too. Just accumulates touches with ease, uses it fairly well and can run all day.

Crazily, he was paying $101 for the rising star three weeks ago, in to $13 now.
Those two players you've mentioned in Wood and Clarke are exactly the two players that I think can have breakout years for you guys next year. Think Clarke would complement your midfield very well if not this year but in the future as it seems Swallow and Cunnington don't really provide much on the outside as they do inside. Considering Clarke has already had 15 uncontested possessions or more in 4 of his 6 games this year tells me that he can be that player who can provide that extra run and support for your on-ball brigade alongside Ziebell.

Caddy and Prestia are in a position to have respective career years, both only 24 and in a midfield that will ask a lot of them. If their bodies allow them, Ben Lennon and Corey Ellis should get some much needed senior footy in, which would set them up for a big 2018.

My non-Richmond pick for a breakout year was Patrick Cripps until he did his back. You'd think with Tom Mitchell gone that Isaac Heeney would get some more midfield time.

The package is already elite.
