Players under 24 to have a breakout season.

i honestly cant think of anyone on our list under 24 who even has the potential to be a star, let alone break out next year. we have a horrendous lack of talent below our top 3-4, let along under 24. rioli perhaps, but i just get the feeling he will turn into your typical pretty good occasionally brilliant small forward type.

God help him if this bloke has a further break-out season. Poor bastard.

You'll get to see him in full flight in round 1 mate, Full derp mode activated.

Short is a good half back, hopefully he frees Vlastuin up to play in the guts(who is impressive there IMO)

Having Weideman in the same forward line should help although he'll have to work on his body language and workrate when things aren't going his way.
Watts is the one who helps Hogan out. Has a really good understanding of Hogans leading and where he wants the ball. Weid will be the one who requires guidance and assistance for a couple of years yet, still very raw and skinny.

Maybe not an out and out star but in Fagan's system and with another year under him I'm backing Tom Cutler to be much more well known by seasons end, as well as Harris Andrews. Hipwood the real Smokey to have a season that gets people taking notice.

From other teams, GC swallow is one I think could come back with a vengeance.

Will be keeping an eye on Menzel from Geelong as well.

Ahern did an ACL late last year. Unlikely to play at all this year.

Dominic Sheed (WCE)
Daniel Venables (WCE)
Willie Rioli Jr. (WCE)

Venables won't, recovering from a foot injury and hasn't joined in any main sessions yet. Duggan should though, looking great this pre-season and the other 2 you've listed for us should feature prominently this season as well.

Id have Cockatoo, Lang and Kolo as our 3 from KP in that order.

Lang needs it the most and Im probably being a bit hopeful - but Cocky with a clean preseason after his knee should also be leading our under 24 year olds.

GO Catters

Out venables, IN Duggan. Venables ison very light duties this preseason and might not even play this season. I wouldnt be surprised if he even playes WAFL reserves. Duggan on the hand if having a good offseason and has added muscle that has held him back a touch.

Maybe Brandon Ellis (still only 23) elevates himself into that proper A-grade category this year, after falling back a bit last season following a very good 2014-2015.

Nick Vlastuin is getting to that age/experience level where you'd expect him to go up a level as well. Being a similar age, I'd say Kamdyn Mcintosh has further scope for improvement too.

If he gets a crack in that 2nd ruck/key forward role (probably sharing it with Ben Griffiths), Toby Nankervis could be a solid pickup too, and improve his reputation. I don't think he's any worse a player than Ivan Maric was when he arrived at Richmond, and he ranged from very good to serviceable for a number of years, and Nankervis is three years younger (albeit also with around three years less experience in terms of games played, too) at the time of his arrival.

It's not all doom and gloom at Tigerland. I think what will see them sink or swim though won't be the young guys, but getting the most out of recent newer recruits (Dion Prestia, Josh Caddy, Taylor Hunt), and something more out of others who've been around a while (Reece Conca, David Astbury, Jake Batchelor) who should be in their prime (ages 25-29).

It doesn't fill me with hope when you start raising players like Ellis (panic and turnover merchant, slow, and expert 1-arm tackle attempter), vlastuin (stuck in the back pocket, ayne not fit enough, likely to waste away as dimma doesn't seem to like him) and Taylor hunt (I just threw up in my mouth). I'll trade you Ellis and hunt for Daniel wells AFTER he retires.
