but faded out in the end.
Were there any players you thought went this way??
I have quite a list:-
Watching some of my games from 92 Jeremy Guard looks like he has huge potential but i thought he really faded out quickly after his debut season.
If Doc WHeildon played up to his potential every week and could kick straight he wouldve been a big forward!!
David Donato looked like he had a bright future in his debut year but when he did his knee in the Fosters Cup we never saw him again.
Mark Dwyer from 86 looked excellent but what happened to him after 86?
he was never really sighted again!!
Simon Hawking looked like he was going to turn into a good backmen but he faded into just a week in week out player for us in our final year.
Scott Bamford i thought was a very good young player but what happened after he went to Geelong??
Was dropped and never sighted again.
Anthony McGregor- I remember the pace he had when he first arrived at the den in mid 93 and got to the seniors before the season ended but he faded out in latter years.

Frank Marchesani
Billy McCormack
Gary Keane
Doug Smith
Darryl Cox
Brett Weatherald
Brad Cassidy
Mark Eaves
Leigh Funcke
Ken Hinkley (until he went to Geelong)
Dale Kickett (until he went to Freo)
Rino Pretto
Renato Serafini

Geez Magoo Mcgrath last seen coaching East Perth seconds 1996, others someone mentioned Max George a good pacing driver bugger of footballer, Peter Castles from Tassie, Michael Poynton, John Frazer, Dean Farnham, Wayne Duke, Brett Grimley. Bloody loads more but I do have to go and have a pint now.

Scott Bamford now plays for North Adelaide in the SANFL once again. He's just about their best player.

As a South Australian raised Roys fan I thought that Roger Delaney would have been great for us. He was an absolute gun of a full back for Port in the SANFL (pre-Crows days as well, when the SANFL was of a brilliant standard)

Didn't he break down in his first Roys game, never to be seen in the guernsey again?

Sartori had a few good games for us. I'm not sure why he didn't become one of our top players. He certainly had the potential.

Andrew Cavedon was another who I thought would do alright with us. He played two games, I believe, kicked 5 or 6 goals in one of them, and never appeared in the seniors again.

Brett Cook looked like he could have been a decent tall forward and ruckman. Nunan didn't give him enough of a go, if you ask me. Did ok at the Saints, but probably by that stage he'd missed the "developmental stages" that would have been necessary to turn him from just a "bits" player into an accomplished senior performer.
