I'm sorry mo. I didn't mean you or the REAL older contributors.

I was just saying that us younger people (mainly girls) cut down the words cos it's quicker, and i'm sick of these people picking on us and not taking us seriously because of that. it was half a joke having a go at the people who treat us like we're not really a part of the club.

your grammar correcting is ok, we all know you are serious about it, but the people on the bandwagon who just use it to have a go are really annoying all of us!

Good points made by the wonderful SigScotty

Too often we place sports stars on way too high a place because they bring to us something we want, in terms of entertainment, but at the end of the day, they are just like you and me (just a hell of a lot fitter!!) They have good days, and they have bad days.

I've been in situations where a player was pig headed and arrogant, now was this just a mood or was it his natural persona? At the time i believed it was just him being him, and told him what for, but have since thought maybe he was just adjusting to his knew surroudings etc.

I have been lucky enough to be on the other end several occasions too and have seen the very best of a player, too, now this i've come to know is just the way he is, a naturally nice guy who goes out of his way to do good things, but i have also seen him on his bad days.

They are people first, players second, they have a life that exsists off the field that they live too, after all, how would you like people running up to you after work when all you want to do is go home?

I agree! Most supporters using this forum certainly make an attempt to communicate their ideas in a logical manner. They're not always grammatically correct in what they write, but I usually have no problem understanding what they mean. It has been extremely frustrating trying to interpret the language of a few posters recently. This detracts from clear communication of ideas and points of view. I enjoy reading the posts from the younger members of this forum (even the silly ones! I mean silly posts, not silly posters!), but I believe some people need to be politely reminded that the best way to win others over to one's point of view is to communicate clearly and as logically as possible.

In addition, personal abuse and name calling is inexcusable from those who are young, as well as from those who wish they were young again.:D

Dancingdoggie - apology accepted:p

Sporty - the Barwon Bulldogs were very happy with the attendance. We made quite of money for the Bulldogs with the sausage sizzle and jumper raffle. BTW - the players had to pay for their sausages too and they were very hungry,;)
As I said previously, the players were happy to mix with us mere mortals and have photos taken and autographs given. Not sure how many attended - probably about 100.
So thanks for everyone's support. (Come to think of it - didn't see you there Sporty!!!)

I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the players were when I asked them to sign my Bulldogs flag last year, I guess that article in the Herald Sun helped a bit since I was recognised by some players because of that most distinguished photo of me next to the article!;)

Dimma, of course, was the nicest since he knew about my farewell dinner at his restaurant. I was able to have a lengthy talk with Trent Bartlett at training at Optus Oval prior to the match against Fremantle. He was injured so was in the stand watching. Terry Wallace, as you know, was very kind to me when he invited me to the rooms at the MCG(right Sporty!). However, I have to admit I was totally won over by David Smorgon when he signed my flag and invited me to the President's Club luncheon. Oh..... to have those fifteen minutes of fame back again! :D

In B54's defense, i don't think he meant player as in on the field, he was using "player" as a title. If you were talking about coaches, he would have said "Peter is one of the better coaches"

Just clearing that up. :)
Exactly, I wasn't talking about how good a player he was but was calling him a "player" as that is what he is. Hence the talking about how friendly he was and not what a great long kick he is

This might be a good place to ask, does this picture look right to you Doggies supporters?

His head seems a bit small? Looks a bit like a sumo wrestler even.
