North Melbourne
Heres a topic a few people have talked about but it hasnt recieved highlighted attention.

Who are the players you would delist from your team, or who should retire?

From North I would say:
David Calthorpe
Brady Anderson
eek.gif
Robert Scott (Retire, has been a champ)
Gary Dhurrkay

Here are the ones for the Lions

Retire
======
Richard Champion (already retired)
Craig Lambert (already retired)

De-List
=======
*Stefan Carey (hasn't done ANYTHING since coming to Brisbane + well have enough ruck men for next season)
*Marti Mckinnon (Same as S.Carey)

Hewitt looked good at the start of the year, but got injured and really hasn't come back. He might do better at another club. It's a shame because North had high hopes for the kid. I think it was Scott Welsh who said that it was hard for him to play in the forward line at North because Carey was there, and Hewitt probably has the same problem. The other thing is that Hewitt's value as trade bait has declined this year (similar to what happened to Jason Daniltchenko). In the past, we had players like Crocker and Roberts who were experienced and confident enough not to defer to Carey when going for the ball.

Lange looks the goods though and he's above Hewitt in the pecking order.

At Sydney we have already told Andrew Bomford and Ryan O'Connor that they will be de-listed.

Bomford was pretty useless but I am disappointed about the Rhino-man. He is a more than usefull fat bastard, either as back up ruckman or spare parts backman-type player.

... But he is a fat bastard ...

Others ? - I dunno but I wish the club would get rid of Dale Lewis - he's lazy, has a smart alec attitude and his sloppy disposal and total inability to kick goals at crucial moments is extremely frustrating.

Marty McKinnon retired yesterday golions so that solves that problem

Personally I think McKinnon had more potential than we saw.. more player mismanagement on the part of Leigh "iknoweverythingcozibrokeagoalpostnwasahardass" Matthews.

Carey should be traded rather than delisted.. there are plenty of clubs around at the moment looking for talls.. either that or taught to play foward altho i dunno if his skills are up to it.

Players that should be traded or delisted are:
Scott
Sholl
Chandler
Calthorpe
Dhurrkay (already retired)
Kingsley
Hewitt
Spaull
Anderson
B.Stephens
Hay
Pagan (already gone)to make way for Smith?

For essendon, we have to have a fair list of people to delist or retire as the total list goes to 38, we need to draft and McGrath and Switala are coming in from the rookie list. Makes for alot of tough calls.

Denham (retired)
Grgic
Lalich (henneman and robram are in front of him)
Berbakov (sad if it has to happen)
Bolton (I don't think he's going anywhere)
+maybe the salary gap will take someone we don't want to let go.

Reducing the lists to 38 is a huge mistake.

For us,

Retirees
*Bluey McKenna
frown.gif

*Chris Lewis

Delisted (already)
*Joel Duckworth

Possible Trades
*Josh Wooden (did well in last nights Sandover)
*Callum Chambers
*Paul Symmons (time to give him a fair go)
*David Antonowictz (sp?)
*That Gehrig bloke
*Maybe Donnolly
*Maybe Mitchell White
*Perhaps (but I hope not) Metropolis

Delist
*Nick Stone
*Laurie Belotti

There's more, but I don't have a team list handy...

It's difficult deciding whether to keep a few second teir middle age players (Symmons, Donnelly, Rintoul, Belotti) to play when our older guys are injured, or to start afresh and develop young replacements, and take longer to regain form.....

We're going to be hit badly in the next season or two with Kemp, Matera, McIntosh and eventually Jako going....

From Geelong:

Barry Stoneham (retired)
Liam Pickering (retired)
Derek Hall (retired)

Delist/Trade:

Simon Arnott - Trade - would be great at StKilda. (sainter are you listening)
Daniel Lowther - Trade - really nice kid, but won't get a go with Spriggs and co in the team.
Paul Lynch - delist/trade if anyone is prepared to take the risk - Rumoured to be retiring (Doh)
Joel McKay - delist - not good enough
Hamish Simpson - delist/trade - Harley is way ahead of him
Paul Corrigan - trade - struggles to get a game at Geelong, gutsy and tough, but not overlly skilled.
Tristan Lynch - delist - 27 and not getting senior football, far too light.

That's 10 players, which gives a fair scope for trades and draft picks.

I'd never slag off any current hawthorn player in a public forum like this.

I do want to voice my concern about Richard Taylor who saw out the season at Box Hill. He was equal second in B&F last year and is a huge worker and I hope the Hawks keep him.

However, he would be a great pick up at another team, especially those looking for 'inside' players

Wishing 'Dicky Knee' well

Geelong should delist Lowther,T Lynch,McKay & O'Brien.
Stoneham,Hall & Pickering have retired.
Arnott,Lindsay,Corrigan & Simpson may be trade.
Woolnough & P Lynch would be doubtful due to injury.

Boy am I good... missed on Calthorpe (his contract wont allow, apparently), Spaull (a little shocked), Pike (was not sure the club had the guts).

Richmond ...

The club got it pretty well right.

Gone:

Turner (retired)

Merenda (traded)
Harrison (traded)

Evans
Powell
Rombotis
Sampson
Greig (all delisted)

I'm glad they held onto Aaron James.

Apparently it goes like this for Essendon

retire Bewick Denham
trade prior
delist Estaugh Berbakov Fraser

promoted from rookie list, Svitala and McGrath.

Leaving the minimum three spots. And yes Dean Wallis appears to be going around again. Tall defenders are hard to find. Personally I hope Henneman takes his spot through natural progression.
Henneman, Jacobs, Rioli, McGrath, Hille and McViegh all have to try to find a way into the team if injury doesn't clear a path for them. As they say you should turn over about three players a year in your best team if everything is working ideally.

From Brisbane I would de-list.

Ben Robbins (Had too many chances, not good enough)
Stefan Carey (HE IS USELESS)
