T Cloke and H Shaw - believed the pre-season hype last year and both were no good (Ok, shaw got going later in the year, but by then I'd already traded him for Jarrad Waite, the week he did his knee:()
Ryan Griffen - didn't mind him in 08, thought he was due to break out last year, but didn't eventuate
Cox - Way too expensive for the risk of him breaking down again
Shaun Burgoyne - wasn't he still on crutches 6 weeks ago? think he might struggle at the start, maybe wait til 5-6 games into the season

Yeah true but when have finals been included in sc?

Played 20 games with an ave of 111,plays mid and kicks goals and is duel position i know im biased alot but i think the stats prove me not to be this time...

I posted this a couple of times last year...

...compare Davis' numbers when Didak is IN and OUT of the team.

I'll leave you to find the numbers... ;)

[Last 2 years]

I'm avoiding Stevie J like the plague just for the fact that he still gives me nightmares from last season when I picked him up and he only played a handful of games for me and then was injured with that dam hip. All the lies that he was coming back, blah, blah, blah but he never did and i kept the faith and kept him till the very end.

NEVER AGAIN! :thumbsd:

Not going for Gilbee either who I had last year (think he's finished as a SC player) and he just gave me the shits with his inability to handle a tag. Same Fisher is another one I wont be getting who I had last year too, just frustrated me aswell with the inability to handle a tag. Meanwhile spuds like Dawson and Gilbert play Fishers loose man position and NEVER get tagged! :o

I have picked Hodge this year though (didn't get him last year) Could be my new whipping boy of this season. ROFL! :p

Couple of hours to kill before the footy starts, so figure now's a decent time to share my Bulldog 2010 theory! :D

IMO, the whole 'Gilbee being tagged' thing is a misnomer...his raw DT scores actually increased last year from 77.2 to 82.1. [Of course you can argue the pressure of a tag affected his game...but I think otherwise...as follows...]

What isn't widely recognised is the Bulldogs were in the bottom 2 for disposal efficiency for a big portion of last season...and SC scores suffered accross the board accordingly.

Because I'm lazy I haven't matched these to I50's, but I'll be surprised if there isn't a correlation...but for simplicity the Bulldogs most "attacking" players ALL [* bar one] had significant SC/DT ratio drop-offs.
Aker, Cooney, Gilbee, Hahn, Johnno, Murphy... [although it could be argued Cooney and Murphy is more injury related...but again it's the SC/DT ratio I'm talking about, more than actual scores.

Eagleton, Gia, Boyd and Cross were all down also (not as badly)...* The one exception was Griffen who went massively from 1.042 to 1.046! :D

Obviously the Doggies changed their style last year from a careful, precision, patient team to one who is far more likely to kick forward quickly to a contest (It's the only way we'll win a GF apparently  )...and it showed.
The fact that we were (relatively) successful and still got plenty of the ball, and therefore had the 2nd most SC (3rd?) points for the season means (to me!) that there isn't any great improvement on the horizon for the year ahead.

The one counter argument I guess is that Hall will be a much better target up forward than Minson (:p) and therefore assists and efficiency are a decent chance to rise...but to the contrary, I think there'll be even more "blind", long kicking forward to a Hall contest, which could continue to hurt players like Murphy, Gilbee and even Cooney to an extent.

Anyway, my theory...and I'm sticking to it! ;)

Kosi - have never had him cos he's a spud in S/C terms.
Raines - didn't get him last year and won't be getting him this year.
Stanton - guru in Dream Team but poor disposals drag him down in S/C.
Gram - See Above. Was 5th ranked defender in D/T last year, 50th in S/C.
Kerr - it's been covered.
Mark Murphy - only cos Juddy is out for 1st few games and he might cop very heavy tag. Hoping to pick him up down the track. (just a theory).
Rob Murphy - more of a D/Ter and risky injury wise. (Price tempting though).

to name just a few.
