How about actually giving Playfair a decent crack at CHF, for every minute, of every game, for the rest of the year. Damn the consequences; just let him settle. What are we going to lose by it?

3 games

i'd rather Nathan be given a go at full fwd, mooney left at CHF not loose man in defence, nathan is younger and more raw, Playfair just isnt up to it thats just a fact, we all need to get over thinking Playfair is of AFL standard cause hes not.

I would be happy with this for the rest of the season to see how it goes.

HF: Chappy, Mooney, G.Ablett
FF: S.Johnson, Ottens, N.Ablett

Mooney gets full games at CHF and is told to take his shots on goal when inside 50 and only pass off if on very accute angles or out of range.

Ottens continues at FF as hands have looked good in last month or so and will prob be our FF next year.

N.Ablett should get a few games in a row as our 3rd tall forward. Dont expect him to do too much but hopefully prove he may be a good Forward after another pre-season etc and into the future.

S.Johnson should be told to prove he deserves to be in the team and that he can apply defensive pressure and do the team things.

Chappy and GAJ well they would be walk ups for most teams.

While I agree 100% with the sentiment behind Dellas words, and understand the frustration fueling them, I think that anger should be directed toward the people who continue to play the likes of Playfair and McCarthy, and that would be the match committee and coach I guess.

Remember reading a while back how he [ Playfair ] was training his guts out [ as someone else already pointed out ] to build up his strength, and do everything he could to give himself the best possible chance of making it at the elite level, same also applies to McCarthy I imagine, but the sad truth is that neither of them are good enough, never have been, never will be, despite Thompsons continued assertions that Playfair is so important to the teams "structure" whatever that means.

To state the obvious, neither of them are trying to fail, and it's not really their fault it they're simply not good enough.
