I know Im opening the door for Jack of P but Id have to say since the broken jaw H's form has been well short of the mark.

Its reminding me of when David Hookes broke his Jaw years ago, it took years for to get mentally right. H looks a little gun shy at the mo. Do I blame him, no? He is after all only human but expectations can be harsh on AFL players , they are expected to be para-normal. He really isnt giving much in the way of ball retention.

Do we have any options? Probably not a lot, so we probably have to persist but today we really struggled to break the Richmond hold, KK was at his low end of contribution, NA did what on could expect basically little, and we were left reliant on guys like Milburn and Johnson to be the sharp end of the spear.
Melbourne is KK's plum so we might get away with next week but Im wondering is it time to bring in Spencer?.Big body and he would draw the bigger defender which would leave NA on the third tall which at this stage is far beter match up.

I agree that H hasn't been up to scratch since he's been back in the side. He's played a couple of super halves (one against Melbourne and I can't remember who the other was against) but apart from that has been disappointing. I've noticed he has been thrown around forward and back which may be disruptive. Might be time to stick him at CHF or in the goalsquare for the duration of the match, if for no other reason to draw a big defender.

playfair has to play at CHF, he is a good player and i expect him to play himself into some form but yeah you are right his form at the moment is a little bit of a worry.
but NA at this stage has to play deep in the goalsquare, it will take a few years before he is able to play CHF and he is extremely dangerous at full forward even now as shown by richmond playing gaspar on him for most of the day today

When you say we might not have to anyone to replace him, what are you trying to replace. He gets a couple of kicks a week. There would not be one player on the list that you could not play in his spot and get the same game time Henry gets and still get 2 kicks minimum. He is a protected specie and should be treated like every other player. You should get a game on form and soon as you start tampering with this notion, the whole club will struggle. Charlie Gardiner is a player I can not stand but he never played as bad as Henry has the last 6 weeks and he got shown the door. If we play Henry next week against Melbourne at CHF all game, we will lose. The hard part about this time of year is there is no VFL games, so none of the other players can show any form. It was amazing yesterday that Mooney ventured forward in the 1st quarter and instantly took a mark and kicked a goal. When does Henry do that. You say Henry was great against Melbourne for a half. He had 5 kicks for the whole game, how good could he have been? I would play Scarlett, Harley and Egan in defence against Melbourne and Mooney, N Ablett and Kingsley forward. Henry can get ready for 2006.

I've been watching Playfair fairly carefully since he has gotten back & it seems to me that he starts well and then just runs out of petrol.

His first halves are usually pretty good, but then he does nothing in the second half.

I think at seasons eand they should put him on a running campaign to get the endurance to continue to present all day.

That said the season seems a little long for him atm, but I doubt Charlie could do much better

Today he was given ZERO chance by our midfield. Long and direct, isolation one out? I don't think so! Continually Henry was made to make half-arsed leads to dainty chips across the fifty and it just gave none of him, Kingsley or Ablett Jr Jr any chance at all to mark the football one-out. Henry's at his best out-wrestling Gaspar (he almost had it in the goalsquare in the last) and will be better on a day when the midfield don't fart around the back fifty and take so long to get it up there.

Another season in the gym for the Big H and I think he'll be right. Graham left a year too early for him, IMO.

Jack , even you would admit before the jaw he was getting more than two kicks a game.Yes he was wastefull at time but he gave us set of hands at CHF that we dont have now. Have a look at the game in which he got his jaw got done, he had just kicked two goals when crunch. With him now down, with Ottens out we are lacking a strong set of hands to go long to. We lack marking power but Im not sure Mooney is the answer but is there anyone else?

The origins of the name come from a German punk band from the early 80's.

As I view (and occasionally post on several different forums) its easier to use the same name on all of them and this name has never been taken before (funnily enough)

Plus it usually gets a reaction

Although he hasn't been in the best of form, he's vitally important to the structure of the side.

It takes a while to come back from a jaw injury! Ask Ricco (2001)!

He will be a very good CHF in the future, mark my words!

I think a rotation policy on the ground and off the bench. Dont just plonk him at CHF for the entire game, unless he is killing it, rotate him with Moondog, Milburn, NA, Kent and possibly Kingy.

It's verry poor im afraid. he does not have the nouse to win the football and even get into the apropriate positions. Against richmond he sucessfully filled leading targets holes for the to lead into to. It doesn't help that our footskills are down at the moment but i think Henry will be a bit on edge once Tom Hawkins arrives onto the scene.

a bench player at best for the moment.

HOTP, by no means are you alone in this but we seem to be placing a hell of lot of expectation on young Tom. Hasnt even drafted yet but we seem to think he is going to be this instant super player.Id say going by other tall players we have drafted, we pick him in 06,first game 07/08 we wont see him being a KPP till 09, thats 4 years away half of our list might be gone by then!
