I think it's important that we try to create a backline whereby the 6-8 players play there week in week out. This will allow a certain relationship and trust to build up where they understand what each other are thinking and where they will move and where themselves can move to be of most benefit. Geelong and Hawthorn have both proved that providing a backline with very little disruption enables a great run and flow to develop. I believe our best football has come when the backline has been playing together for a few weeks in succesion and without too many injuries. It would just of been nice to have Dempsey in the side more often. As for players like NLM and Ryder I just hope Knights leaves them in the one spot rather than trying to create these versatile utility types. We have enough players to have guns everywhere so hopefully providing injuries aren't a bitch again we can create a foundation for success.
