Imo, if Stephens is a flight risk, which I don't think he is, he would be just as likely to go to a Melbourne club. Feel like it's a bit of paranoia that's he's going to run first chance he gets.

Lots of big decisions to be made this year. Lot of young talent out of contract. Big decisions that will impact our clubs ability to win the next flag.

Very excited for the future, if they can keep these lads together.

I think the timing of COVID kinda helps a bit.

no one besides north would have a HUGE war chest.

Dawson, McCartin & Stephena to get 3 year deals and more $$$.

the rest we want to keep won’t cost heaps as I don’t think there is a market there (I.e. Hewitt, Parker, Kennedy, Reid)

mcClean and fox get upgraded. Cull rest

Hawks and Crows will have plenty of room in the cap.

Another 8-10 of the list imo

Bell
Amerty
Ling
Sinclair
Brand
Gray
Ronke
Cor maybe
Clarke maybe
I'd personally stick with Sinclair and COR on one year deals. Very handy for depth and they both clearly are good for the place from a culture perspective, both love the place and seem loved. Plus they can both still play at senior level when required. They aren't first choice by any means, but very useful depth players.

Bell, Amartey, Brand, Gray, Ronke, and Clarke I think are very likely to be let go and Ling is 50/50 at best. I think the club rate him but if he can't force his way into the side then he's in naturally in trouble. Could be a good rookie selection though, I'd be fine with that.

My guess is that the club will only delist as many as it needs to create the spaces for drafting. Not sure we have any real trade currency to play with who would enable us to move up to a better pick or picks so I doubt we'll be shopping around. Imagine only Sinkers will retire this season which will not open up a a lot of cap space.
Next season might be very different but I expect this one to be pretty low key.
2020 pretty hard to match!

They will delist 3 to 4 off the senior list to open up spots for draft picks and then another 2 spots will need to be opened to promote Wicks and McLean to the senior list. So they could easily delist 5 to 6 senior listed players before they even think about trading anyone in or out.

As I said, as many as we need.
Agree that Wicks and McLean DESERVE to be promoted but it's more of a commercial decision with the 80k discount. That plus contract issues.
The national draftees MUST go onto the Senior List. We may choose to delist and rerookie some too, but we will want our full quota on the rookie list.

We've turned over an average of 10ish players each year for the last 3 years. Still re-building but I can't see another 10 go out this year?? but wouldn't be surprised if theres a few ruthless calls made

I think Robbie's half a dozen is probably closer to the mark. May even include a retirement (Sinkers) or two (JPK). The development players seem to be doing OK (Sheather, Carruthers, O'Connor). We seem committed to Amartey and Bell (don't @ me!) so it looks like the original top ups like Gray, Taylor, Clarke plus Ronke if he can't get right might be most at risk. Gould might even be a smoky for that list.
Everyone else has shown something at senior level.
A lot depends on contract status of course, but as I said before I don't think we have much trade currency unless we're short of steak knives or someone actively wants to leave. This mob look pretty settled though.
