Have never played a 2K NBA game before, last NBA game I played was Live 09 I reckon, have 2K games always been so over complicated? I assume once you get into it, it makes sense but it seems like rocket surgery trying to figure out where everything is and how to do everything.

I played 2k11-14 religiously but have skipped 15-16 and it took me about 5 games to get adjusted to the changes and I'm still along way off where I was.

Just keep pressing x to make it download.

Mine eventually downloaded the whole thing but kept doing that countless times.

Yeah mine had real trouble from the 25 to 35 gig mark but after that was smooth sailing .

^^ Will remember that, mine downloaded enough to be able to start the game (7gb). I haven't connected the ps4 since Saturday and don't know how much there's left to go

Downloading in rest mode seemed to help mine download quicker and without constantly stopping

To be honest it's very much like learning to play Basketball in reality. Takes a few games and practice to get the shots right as well as passing. Don't jump for every rebound as well as try to steal, those days are long gone. You often get caught with reach in fouls etc.

I'll add to this and maybe counter point it a little

I can still sometimes get away with playing the old NBA JAM style, attempt to steal a lot (if I manage to steal the ball awesome, if nothing else happens awesome.... but if I do get 2 foul calls in the first quarter I'll then put a sock in it for the rest of the game ).

I do all of the wrong things at times, still jump for every rebound even though I have no hope of getting them. I still end up with 10 per game at a minimum though.

You can get away with doing the basics, I rarely ever do the iso-motion and overly complicated moves. I usually play with the traditional controls 1 button to pass, 1 button to shoot etc. Rarely ever call plays. There is a deeper game within though when you do all of those things.

Even with NBN, I'm not sure I want to download 41GB
Back when I played NBA games, Clyde Drexler was always the top scoring player in the league... Often my entire starting line up were the top 5 of every stat, bar a few.

No, mid to late 90's as a kid when I was right into the NBA so it was PS1. Around the time Drexler went from Portland to Houston to win a championship ring (which was 95)
I do remember owning NBA live 97 or 98.

I got it for about $15 with the previous title about nine months back. I'm a big fan of Saints Row titles but this one is a dog. Painful to play.

Just turn off your internet connection ...in your PS4 settings then restart ...I had to do it a few times

Yeah ....I love NBA ....am I fan of NBA gaming ....lol not sure

I find each game very very repetitive ....dump it to green and bogut ...post up move .....then kick to curry or Thompson for the three ...

I downloaded it for for the odd pick up play game where I just feel like ....FEELS LIKE a grind to do a season and all that trading ....I have say an hour of gaming a night at most

Anyone noticed that some PS2 titles are now available via Digital download? Grand Theft Auto Trilogy pack is 55.95 (GTA III, Vice City and San Andreas). I'm definitely getting San Andreas, would love to do that again. Also Max Payne is also on there for 22.95.
