I'll get home at 6, depending on how long it takes to install/download patches, then dinner, then put the kids to bed, I might get to play it at 9 o clock :p

Just installing patch now and will boot it up after remember how to setup the VR again. All the reviews have said it's nothing more than an extremely linear, shallow shooter on VR rails but somebody had to take the first step. The aim controller is open source an other developers are already incorporating it.

How big is the patch?

Geez, that doesn't sound promising.

Seems the big issue is a lot of these people are comparing it to AAA non VR games. Apples to oranges imo. VR is obviously going to be a step back in terms of how it looks, and the obvious limitations of movement and how to handle it, but I think its really harsh to be comparing this type of game to the likes of COD/Destiny/etc.. simply because they are all FPS titles.

I'm keen to get into this so I'll post my thoughts when I have played.

Yeah I agree. I'll be keen to hear your thoughts bearing this in mind.

I thought of it as buying the controller + a $20 game on top.

Finished the first mission but need to take a break. I'm not very used to VR and I think motion sickness has got me. I'm sweating and feel like puking lol. I'm fine with the stuff where I use a standard controller and am just looking around in VR but this is messing me up. Hopefully I can get used to it.

How big is the patch?

Around 2.6gb

Did you play Robinson The Journey at all?

Did you play Robinson The Journey at all?

Nope but I read lots of people had problems with that. I was fine with stuff like Eve so hopefully I should be good to go for Ace Combat. If not I'm just going to have to flip my VR because it's no use having an expensive piece of gear that makes me sick :'(

Can also confirm that if you point the gun at your head and fire you die.

I was getting into the story with the scientists until I felt like barfing.

What settings are you using? No turning, smooth etc?
I just left everything as default. Didn't feel suck at all so didn't bother trying any other settings.

Next time I try I might set it back to 'no turning.' I changed it so I could orientate myself but that was probably what was doing my head in. Might try standing next time too.

Besides that how good does the gun look in game. It's pretty cool that it has enough details that you can flip it around and look at. Neat touch that you can shoot yourself in the head too.

Yeah I always play standing. One thing I did differently this is stood with my legs against the couch so I had some kind of real life orientation. Wether on not that helped me not experience the motion sickness I got in Robinson The Journey or not I do t know.

Alright so I am probably only an hour into, just got introduced to the grenade launcher then my brother said he wanted a shot. It is really, really cool. The aiming with the gun feels just perfect, you can look down the site, you can shoot from the hip and you can even off yourself.

The mobs are pretty scary (to many anyway, even gave my brother a few scares and he doesn't get scared at all). They mob you in some parts, the jump at your face they explode they throw shit at you, its really cool.

Everytime i see a VR game i want to play i get tempted to pick up the PSVR but then i remember the entry cost.

Give me the PS4 camera, 2 move controllers and headset for $500 and I'm there, motion sickness and all.
