Ok you have six months

Do what I do when I want something

I will go ok if I have less takeaway coffee I can save 15 ....15x 26 = 390 bucks ...less takeaway food ...make your lunch more

Sell a couple of games is another $50 bucks

Buy you're next pair of sneakers from an op shop ...hey o get Nike and asics shoes from op shops .......that's saves $100

I set up a PayPal account when any money I save goes straight into that account .......I Purchaed a $2650 kayak by doing this ...I saved that coin in one year from just making a few cuts here and there ......

Saving money isn't hard you just have to work out where you'll save it and commit to it .....I already have $320 saved for VR.
Paypal doesn't take cuts from your balance every month?

this seems like a very expensive way to play the same games but exclusively in first person, that's just my initial impression - do you still use the controller like normal?

It costs less then Rift or Vive.
Oculus Rift is $599 US, selling it for $920 in Australia
Vive is $799US, costs about $1400 after import and customs fees.

And both Vive and Rift need VR ready PC's which cost at least 3x more then the PS4

No

Only selling fees on eBay

I use gumtree a lot also but selling wise I still use eBay as the price difference you get selling still outweighs the fees

I go to garage sales and op shopping ....I often find some cool things ......fix them or renovate them in my shed

Then sell .......easy money

Even a gold coin money tin ......put your gold coins in you're money time twice a week ....in no time you'll save

Yes I think so go some games from what I've seen

Jump onto YouTube and have a look....heaps of videos on VR

Is there any chance when you see one in action and have a go your tune might change

It's a long way away so plenty of time to get excited about it
I think my concern is that it ends up being a fad or a passing gimmick...a bit like 3D TV, or the 3DS that everybody now uses in 2D mode anyway. It's the beginnings of a piece of tech that in my personal opinion will never define gaming; it will always be an extra on the side that is cool to experience but never really justifies its price tag.

Like you said having a go might change my perspective and I'll definitely jump at any chance I get to give it a go. At the minute though I don't see it as being worth it.

Fair enough. Cheers for the tip.

Do you specifically need the Move controller thingy? Or will that be for certain games or just if you want something different to the controller?

I think they have said they are optional, you can just use the DS4

And this price discrepancy really makes me wonder about the quality. If they're going to be fairly low res (like Oculus dev kits) then it's simply not going to be worthwhile.

Pretty sure the Oculus is targeting a higher res, 1080 isn't quite crisp enough when it's right next to your eyeballs.

I'll need to do some more research, I know Oculus also comes with built in headphones and mic etc that go some way in explaining the cost difference.

I feel I'll inevitably jump in at some point, but too large an investment to jump in without some genuine comparisons done and also seeing how genuine support is. Kinect was meant to be a game changer but had **** all support despite Microsoft's claims.

Sony will need to be very open about letting small devs release VR projects for there to be enough interesting content.

Have to buy PS Camera separately...

What they said a while back was they will have packages

One with headset

One with headset and camera

One with headset camera and move controllers ....there will be options

Ps cameras can be had on gumtree for 45 bucks

I like the concept ...however I'd like to try one first too
I'm sure there will be enough reviews to get a decent perspective on it

Only America has had a bundle with a Camera confirmed. nothing with camera and move anywhere yet. they were just reddit rumors from last month.

And used PS4 Cameras will go up in price in the next few days.
