PMB's Top 60
So this'll be my final rankings release for the year, pretty happy with it overall and not a whole heap of guys missed out that I felt could be realistically pushing in (guys like Borlase, Newchurch, Clarke, Cardillo and Josh Green being the main ones). It's going to be an interesting draft, there's around 10 in here that I don't think will get drafted but on performance I think should.

within the ranges of 10's there was a lot of flip a coin calls, especially that 20-40 region there's some that I have towards the bottom of that range I wouldn't be surprised to see at the top of that range for other watchers. I'm pretty optimistic about this draft, I think a lot of these guys could become those 20-30 on the list types even towards the bottom of my rankings. Heights and Weights should all be correct, maybe 1 cm or kg out here and there

The strongest word is that pies are keen on him at those teen picks, it's probably a little bit earlier than I'd personally bid but I can see why they'd want him considering they lack quality traditional small forwardsReason behind Collingwood bid on Coleman do the Magpies see him as that pressure small forward that they don't have is a first round bid a bit of a reach for Coleman or do you see right in this region?
I think the pick exchange also came with a “gentleman’s agreement” not to bidThe strongest word is that pies are keen on him at those teen picks, it's probably a little bit earlier than I'd personally bid but I can see why they'd want him considering they lack quality traditional small forwards
Yeah probably, but like with the initial phantom I did a couple of weeks ago it's the range I feel he'll be bid on, and Pies fit with the need for a good small forward so it's an easy one to put inI think the pick exchange also came with a “gentleman’s agreement” not to bid
Gulden who you have 3 picks later wouldn’t be a better fit with Gulden a capable midfielderYeah probably, but like with the initial phantom I did a couple of weeks ago it's the range I feel he'll be bid on, and Pies fit with the need for a good small forward so it's an easy one to put in
What benefit is there for Collingwood in this? Potentially missing out on a prospect they rate for just a minor pick upgrade in the late 60s?I think the pick exchange also came with a “gentleman’s agreement” not to bid
Wasn't the trade a pick upgrade in their favour? only minor but helps with a potential McInnes bid for them so beneficial both waysWhat benefit is there for Collingwood in this? Potentially missing out on a prospect they rate for just a minor pick upgrade in the late 60s?
It was in their favour, but if Collingwood actually think Coleman is the best player for them at pick 16, it seems like they could demand much more to take themselves out of the running for a bid. A minor pick upgrade seems pretty small potatoes.Wasn't the trade a pick upgrade in their favour? only minor but helps with a potential McInnes bid for them so beneficial both ways
hmmm, yeah I can't really see it then, but I also don't see why you guys would give them the extra draft capital for no handshake agreementIt was in their favour, but if Collingwood actually think Coleman is the best player for them at pick 16, it seems like they could demand much more to take themselves out of the running for a bid. any good small forwards projected to go late first round?
Bailey Laurie is the most obvious one not club tied, depending on how late the first round goes Corey Durdin, Jack Ginnivan and Charlie Lazzaro are guys that'll play that role and wouldn't be a big reach.
Has the right traits for a traditional small forward with his speed and goal sense, but also suffers from a lot of the same issues many do such as inconsistency and issues getting into the game when their not in front, I don't mind him, and of those that are likely to be available I'd say he's one of the better natural forwards as opposed to a Gulden/ Western who are more mids who will play forward because of sizeis Coleman any good, read we are linked to him but he is tied to lions?
I’d hope that Collingwood wouldn’t be making any handshake agreements over such an insignificant pick swap.I think the pick exchange also came with a “gentleman’s agreement” not to bid

Can't claim to know anything extensive about issues he may have, but from about 40 onwards he was a talent too good not to pick imo. What's most telling to me is neither Eagles or Freo picked him up as a WA local, usually if you have a kid who's consensually a 20-35 talent with some attitude concerns local clubs still bite. This has Jonty Scharenberg written on it imoCan't get my head around Trew. The way he got described to me earlier in the year was that he basically doesn't have a weakness. Roll on to the week before the draft and his U18 coach publicly pots him then he goes undrafted.

I disagree, it isn't Sumich's job to do the work of an agent, he's a coach and should tell it how it is, after all it's more his creditability on the line if he vouches for a kid he doesn't have faith in, and certainly if I was a recruiter and he did I'd be a lot more hesitant to go through him for honest observation on players. I imagine this wouldn't have been the first time Sumich has said this, and it wouldn't be the first time Zane had heard itit really doesn’t help when the former 18’s coach pots you a couple of days before the draft.
I don’t know what Sumichs agenda is and neither does he for that matter, but he has done this boy and WA football a great disservice with his actions. I hope clubs seriously have a look at what he has to offer and pick him up today.
