Where do you rate Jack PMBangers, personally I’m a big fan, but I only really see the SA kids so I’m keen to see where you think he lines up against the other forwards like him around the country.

As in Delean I assume? He's a late first rounder for me at the moment, as a forward I don't think he does enough defensively at the moment, and that ability to bring pressure I50 is an increasingly important part of the game, and as a winger I think there's some work to do with his two way running and would like to see some more consistency with his contested application, but his work in offense in both roles, particularly when his team his breaking away in transition, is exceptional, and ball use matches that, so I think clubs would back themselves to get him up to scratch elsewhere

Thanks. Yeah I meant Delean.

Saints always need another Jack.

Bangers, what do you make of Lorenz' performances this year and his ceiling at AFL level?
Hard to get a gauge given the inconsistency in getting on the park, but it's been a bit all over the place.
I've seen him once live this year and that was against Sandy, where he still showed some really good stuff without absolutely dominating the game; contested ball, positioning and ball use mostly, so he certainly hasn't lost any of the traits that got him on the radar initially, its just a waiting game to see whether he puts it all together consistently from here

PMB I notice your OP has Wilson as a utility, some have him pegged as a wingman at AFL level but IIRC he is spending some time forward.
Do you see wing as his best spot once he settles in an AFL environment or do you think he'll project as a genuine utility that plays anywhere?

Personally I think he's at his best as a high half forward, given that freedom to roam up the ground as a link up option but doing most of his work inside 50. He is however versatile enough to play in the backline and centre square, so he'll give clubs a lot of flexibility to put him where they need his skills most

Moir is like a shorter version of JUH when running and marking the footy but completely dual sided. He has more talent in his big toe than most of the Under 18 players in the country. Suited to a third tall forward but with midfield abilities long term. His biggest issue is application and defensive want. He can appear lazy and laconic at times and go missing for long periods but also has plenty of runs on the board and has made opponents look pretty stupid at times. You will not find a better dual sided kick outside the AFL than him right now.

I keep reading the above regarding him.

Kicking and being dual sided is fantastic, but you need to be able to win the ball consistently and generally have above average athleticism to be able to utilise those skills at AFL level.

Ben Lennon was a great kick too......

What’s Mckercher like kicking and pace wise

Strengths and weaknesses?

Would he be a good fit for blues
Very good for both, although how often he slows the game down to get onto his left side is starting to concern me, there's just no confidence in his opposite side ball use which is going to be a big hindrance at the next level.

Without getting too pedantic, his only really weakness outside of that left side reliance is his size

This strikes me as a big concern as well. It's one thing to be sub-par on your non-preferred foot, it's another for your whole movements to always be orientated one way, such that potential exit paths/evasions are spatially cut in half.

Being a mug who doesn’t have any access to preseason testing data…who is this years Ollie Hollands or Jaxon Binns? Players that can run all day with big repeat efforts.
No clue, I also don't get any testing info 😥

In terms of draftable talent Roberts and Brown from Sandringham both did very well in the yo-yo test in the pre-season.

His size is probably a positive in the sense that he’s around 6ft but needs to bulk up so isn’t that considered upside?

It's more nitpicking with top end prospects than it is "this trait is undraftable", and ideally you'd like a bit more size than 181 cm for a midfielder, but it's not something I'd expect to cause him to drop down the order

Who do you see late 2nd round that would interest the Lions
Well to take a play out of the briztoon playbook, with Levi looking a top end prospect for next season I reckon the Lions will be looking for ways to get into the first round this year! From my (admittedly limited) understanding of the Lions list, I'd say Rucks and KPDs are the priority (correct me if wrong) and there's a couple of decent options in the first round frame for both. Dan Curtin is the leading KPD option, but I really rate what Connor O'Sullivan and Ollie Murphy do in key posts as well, both have high levels of athleticism and aerial impact, but O'Sullivan's ability at ground level is also really impressive for his height. For rucks it's Mitch Edwards and Ethan Read (Suns Academy), rucks do tend to slide, but right now I'd argue both are top 10 worthy prospects. I'm yet to be convinced by Goad out of SA, but he could be a later option as well.

But to actually address the initial question it's hard to say right now who'll be there, most of the KPPs showing draftable traits ATM are top 25 prospects, but guys like Wil Dawson from Gippsland may slide due to being quite raw and having a way to go physically. I also wonder whether George Stevens ends up in that range due to lower speed/ agility, he'd be good value in that range imo, and the GWV Rebels x Brisbane connection is in need of renewal

I have a playbook?

My personal opinion of our list needs are, KPP's and third talls at either end.

I wouldn't have ruck as a need. We have four on our list at the moment. I'm not sure if either of the two young rucks will make it (Kalin Lane & Henry Smith), but it's not a position of need yet.
