Adelaide, after having already bid on Croft and Rogers: and I’ll effin do it again

Felt cute, might delete later x
It would be so hard to be mad at us picking up Colby Mckercher cuz I love him but stick a fork in me if we don't pick up a gun forward half player this year. Duursma, Watson, Caddy, hell even Delean or Callinan look like they'd be an instant upgrade on all of our small fwds.

Mckercher Cerra Walsh Cripps does sound a touch too sexy if Cripps stopped looking like he was playing with a broken back again.

Wilson my favourite in the draft though, hope he stays around that 10 mark and we can trade back in for him. His run is delicious.

Who had the better game on the weekend Jordan Croft or Charlie McCormack?
Croft had more of a defence to deal with!

But definitely Jordan from my viewing, McCormack was good but didn't do as much non-goal kicking related things, his open play work is a general RFI at the moment

I desperately want Croft to be good but all I saw was a couple of soft frees and a few easy misses (not to mention not making the distance from about 40 out). Doesn't really grab the ball in marking contests, a bit like Josh Schache, really easy to spoil.

Massive Ayce Cordy vibes.

I thought the Allies kid with the legendary mullet was way better.

Thanks for the reply.

Ok different question about the same two players.

Who showed more AFL traits in their respective games?

Still Croft imo, a lot more to his game as it stands but if McCormack can impact further up the ground in the future it'll do plenty to raise his stocks.
Can anyone provide a list of midfielders to keep an eye on that are chances to be taken in the top 30 on draft night?
Mostly the guys in the phantom posted, with Will Brown and Will Lorenz (both Metro) the two main guys I see as close to that group, and Academy Member Cooper Simpson and Harry De Mattia both worth tracking for Country

Sorry to hijack your thread Bangers but it does look like the cool thing to do around here. At some point should the Dogs pass on Croft? The tall talent feels like it’s reaching a point of excess and losing all their mid tier draft picks guts the depth of your list which shows in their age profile.

It gets hard to even give games and develop the talent properly at some stage
A lot will come down to where the club expects a bid too come for Croft. If we could trade up to get in a pick before or if the bid is late than our 2 x 1st's which seems unlikely currently would be ideal 2x mids and Croft.
More likely is scenario is a trade to get in a pick beforehand. Suns seem a likely trade partner as they will need points to match their academy kids.

Would North lean towards Caddy over Duursma? We took George last year as a general forward but another tall forward to help Larkey would be nice.
Yeah it's possible, I see Duursma as a potential winger at the next level and with North's need for some better quality outside leaning midfielders I saw it as a good fit. If Caddy can have a couple of big Champs games it'll be harder to overlook him, particularly if he can further develop in that Dusty type role where he starts at centre stoppages but moves into a more traditional forward position afterwards

Suppose WCE bid on Jed Walter with #1 -- is it an absolute definite that GC would match? I haven't kept up with where they'll be at points-wise, what they'll need, etc etc.

It costs 2400 points to match a bid at pick 1.

Gold Coast currently have about 3600 points with their first 5 picks (they currently have 9 picks worth points).

They could possibly get to 4600 points with live draft night trades.

They can also go in to a points deficit on next year’s picks.

They’re not going to have a problem matching bids on all three kids.

They also need 9 list spots to take 9 picks in, correct? Or do they have another concession there?
I’d imagine there will be some trading to be done.
