His out put has improved in recent weeks, and it's promising to see his ruck craft making some positive strides, but there's not enough from this year to gibe you confidence he makes it at the top level. For his positives I'd absolutely use a 20-25 pick on him, but difficult to justify anything more substantial

That's fantastic for club boards!

I still rate him highly, and wouldn't be shocked if he was the second open pool prospect taken, I'm still not convinced by his athleticism, was hoping to see him as a permanent part of WA's D50 set up to get a better gauge of whether he's a genuine KPD or a tall flanker sort of player, although I do understand why he was played primarily as a midfielder. The battle against Walter was very good though, as well as the short stint on Reid v Country. Hopefully he gets a crack at League level for Claremont!

More performances like his game against WA would make it very difficult to not have him in there, seeing him work up the ground while still hitting the scoreboard heavily was really pleasing, not quite pushing top 20 yet for me but certainly within the top 40
What picks do Geelong have at the moment, as mentioned previously PMbangers I honestly believe Morris would be a perfect fit for the cats.

No clue, what picks Geelong have atm, Lore has an excellent spreadsheet pinned to the top of the draft board tracking it all

Do 2 years of cricket and then pick your own club without the vagaries of draft
Yep. Wouldn't be surprised if we see Wil Parker come to the AFL next year.

Hey banger. What’s your thoughts on caidence Cleary? Very good for the allies the other day

PMBangers What's your thoughts on the article by Marc Mcgowan suggesting North might push for access to Sanders through an automatic NGA selection being added to the list?
I doubt north get two assistance packages two years in a row when they arnt even the worst team in the comp. Alright got two first rounds this year and probably get another for Ben McKay.

GC got it for more wins over the same period.

They also got Pick #1, a Future End of R1 and a mid Rnd 1 and the Darwin Zone.

I could see this getting up tbh, as it doesn't move anyone's picks, just takes a player out of the pool.

Some of you should be happy, as McKercher has also been in our NGA squads since u/12's.

The two first rounders we have are for our finishing position and the exodus for a #1 draft pick after 12 months.

They weren't handouts.

He's certainly improved his standing in my eyes through performance but still the same prospect traits wise from pre-Champs, really strong contested ball winner and tackler, kicking is ok for a player winning so much of it in congestion but not great when not under pressure. I think he's another in that 20-35 range at the moment

It's a no loss situation for North so I don't see why they wouldn't, and from the AFLs POV it might be easier to swallow giving them access to a top 10 talent rather than a top 5 PP. Although I expect it'd hinge on what happens with McKay, giving North a Pick 3 compo and access to Sanders wouldn't go down well with other clubs

Yeah but they need the Gold Coast to be successful and they hadn’t done anything for their existence. Goldcoasts academy are also off limits to everyone anyway and a lot different to the nga system. Be a big stretch to say you can’t bid on a player inside the 40 but north can have a top ten pick without using a draft pick

Gold Coast was a different situation stemming back to the AFL's botched start up of their club training out of tin sheds.

Surely, they're treated as two separate things?
We are getting compo for Mckay if he leaves anyway, it's just a matter of where it falls in terms of the offer given.

So the decision becomes what level of assistance do they give, is Sanders to high.

A decision on Sanders would need to be decided well before the offers for Mckay come in.

Is Sanders part of North's NGA? Or is he just Tasmanian?

If he is part of the NGA then lifting the pick 40 limit or pre listing him might make a good compromise.

If its the latter, and he is just Tasmanian then I think it's too much.
where does it stop? Why not McKercher or any other non-NGA prospect?

Supposedly he now qualifies

Would be the biggest draft rort in history in North get Sanders. Will at least make it easier for Tassie Devils to get him home in 4 years as start up player if he goes to North
