This could also be the first time I remember that we have 4 genuine ruck prospects in Read, Edwards, Goad and Green that are all, in my eyes at least, top 30 talents. I was lucky enough to watch Green in person yesterday play one of the best opening quarters I've seen from a ruck at any level, and he's the one I've had lowest of the 4 to this point. Add in Visentini as another National Draft prospect and that's 5 guys that I genuinely believe could shoulder the ruck duties for a club at the next level (although Read probably ends up a KPD). Going to be interesting to see how it plays out come the draft given clubs generally let them slide a little later on or trade rucks in, but I'd be pretty happy selecting any of the first 4 within the top 25
Ethan Read will be a ruck , no prob there

Of course he can rest forward , or play wing or play back

But I think Ruck / Fwd

I think anywhere else yes, but if Gold Coast keep Moyle long term Reads going to more valuable down back, or yeah even on a wing.

I wouldn’t have him as a main ruck as his hitout work isn’t really his strength it’s everything else which should help him play KP. As PMBangers said he may be a better fit in other spots for the Suns in particular, he will very likely play forward early days imo.

Re his hit out stuff agree that’s his weak point but it is on the improve

Will start forward and play 2nd ruck but in time I think his hit out stuff will be average level and the rest of his around the ground stuff way better than average so will impact as a full time ruck like a Dean Cox

With his endurance it will suit getting him around the ball even if his ruck work is no better than average , but this won’t be straight up

Could potentially even play as a Blicavs style midfielder

I noticed Harley and McKercher were a bit quiet in the latest round - shorter game time or injury? I only see the stats and 6 and 14 touches seems like an anomaly. I did read McKercher had 2 goals at QTR time.

I believe McKercher hurt his ankle, but didn't watch the game

Everyone should just let him pass just in case, the Giants will do the right thing by the kid and pick him up anyway, kinda charity ;)

Is Stevens another D'Aloia or Szybkowski?
Stevens has the benefit of form in a another position, which is likely his position at AFL Level as well, but as a midfielder I still feel his spread from the contest and use by foot is more reliable than D'Aloia

whats your thoughts on luker kentfield kicked 4 in League on the weekend
It's an impressive haul for a 17 year old at that level, albeit in a strong team against a weak one. If he doesn't attend a combine he'd be worth bringing on as a train on player to see how he fairs with the fitness and athletic side of things, but I worry about the fact he's struggled at the Champs in a faster paced game

Way way way better delivery by foot even when playing in the engine room than D'Aoia and when playing half back with time and space almost precise.
Don't particularly agree with the delivery by foot from the inside, tends to float them too much for my liking, but agree with the foothills out of the defensive 50

How would you compare Ferronato to D'Aloia and szybkowski?

By the eye test he's more athletic, and he definitely spreads better from contests and hits the scoreboard more often. I see him as more of a rookie prospect atm, but the improvement in the last month or so in his game has been good to see

I was worried I was warming to him due to the lack of other genuine mids and glossing ove his lack of speed and habit of jamming the ball on his boot as quick and hard as he can. I love his second efforts and tackles though.
I'll be interested to see how he goes at the state carnival.

Oh look I was just listing positives after all, I certainly don't think he's someone that would be getting looked at in a National Draft sense if it were a decent year for mids

I don't think he goes national draft either and if he did it'd be the last few picked. It just shows the lack of depth in that area when I have him ranked as the 6th best pure inside me ( behind Sander, Stevens, Hall Mcaulliffe and Cleary).

Interested in your thoughts on Geordie Payne (TAS).

I haven't watched Tassie for a while but haven't got him noted down for anything yet, will see him at TBO this week though
What's happened to D'Aloia and Szybkowksi this a year?

How are they tracking in state footy?

Any chance of them being picked up as mature aged prospects?
They're tracking how you'd expect mostly, don't see either getting picked up anytime soon
