O'Sullivan and Jagga were dominant, very exciting times for Oakleigh. I think the Brisbane academy are the worst 18s rep side, looked lucky to get the goals they did. Not sure who he was, but 27 for Oakleigh had a day out.
That was Will Lamotte

I think that is a fair assessment. The bottom agers are generally playing the mid roles. Kynan Brown & Lorenz play mid, they could be the only top agers that play mid.
O'Sullivan, Jagga, Gross won a heap of the footy but I am a little critical on their use. Yesterday all tended to have a high turnover rate and it was obvious that they burn their team mates. IMO opinion this is an area of their game that they can improve on. However, they are all good players.
Lorenz was good. He looks so much more comfortable in the mid. His use yesterday was pretty good, however, at times he did try to do too much and got caught a few times. Nevertheless it was a good start from Lorenz.
Kynan Brown is a War-Horse. By the eye his work rate was second to none yesterday. He is hard at it and is a really good decision maker. You can see he loves involving his teammates in the game. His kicking was a little off at times, however, once he's a full time demon I have no doubt this will be amended.
Billy Hicks is new to the chargers program. Not sure how tall he is but he provided a really good target up fwd. He hits the pack hard, which i'm sure the recruiters love and he looks like he's reasonably athletic as well. He kicked a nice goal from a tight angle. One to watch. Gruzewski mkII
Nathan Philactides as the scoreboard indicates it was pretty much a one sided affair so he didn't get too many looks at it, but when he did his speed and power was evident. He made good decisions and uses the ball really well, particularly by foot. Its clear why so many clubs rate him.
Ollie Badr played back as well. I love his aggressive running, but he has the tendency to rush and turn the ball over. Having said this the ball wasn't in the D too aften so I can understand why he was trying to take the game on. The one thing I did notice with Badr and Philactides is their run out of the D is aggressive and fast but they do get ignored regularly.
Lions - I don't know much about them but the better players IMO were. I also thought the Lions had a better ball movement structure, but just didn't have the talent on the park to compete.
Brad McDonald
Joshua Cooper (19yr old)
Samuel Marshall (bottom ager)
Jake Fazldeen (Bottom ager)

Can anyone beat Koltyn Tholstrup for style?

juicy

they are 1 - 1. Keen on an update on a few of Essendon's NGA kids. About 5 have played in either or both of the two games (Eyre, Nguyen, Kako, Taha, Naim) if you can give us any insight into any of these guys?
Nguyen and Kako I've been high on since the 16s champs, Nguyen may need to add some time up forward to his resume given his smaller frame for the next level, but good user and decision maker. Kako is just an excitement machine up forward, has just seemed to create highlight reel worthy moments every game.
Eyre has a bit to him in the back half, need to see more against the full time teams (playing well against academy sides doesn't count for much) but I could see him being in the draft frame by the end of the year.
Taha I'm not overly high on, has some neat disposal and tricks but lacks a sustained impact on games even through the midfield
Naim I haven't seen enough of yet, but the stats look good
I’ve been wondering when someone was gonna start talking him up. He’s looking good!
Woah woah woah, I'm president of the DW fan club tyvm

Mate they actually aren’t bad this year
They could be prime 01-03 Brisbane Lions level and I still wouldn't subject myself to the 90 minute drive and $500 dim sims at Craigieburn

Not if there were GIANTS prospects there?

Think the Eagles may win the Harley Reid cup this year after all the injuries in the Derby

I rather the pain of watching on the app than being stuck in that wind tunnel for 3 hours, starving because I've already chopped off all my fingers and sold my extra organs for a singular chip there.

Not a bad prize for last place to be fair

Was good to be back out watching footy live again this weekend, quite a few bottom agers really caught my eye playing big parts in their teams. Must say for draft age talent I'm surprised by how much some of the top end VIC talent has separated themselves from the pack early on, half due to being so impressive and half due to others not quite showing any improvement, or in some cases regressing from last year.

Also has to be said that the league made the right choice in bringing the Gold Coast Academy back into the draft bidding system, I very well believe that Walter, Rogers and Read are all first round contenders as it stands

Does this explain the 3 consecutive years of Gold Coast having 1 men's draft pick? (Constable aside.)

PMB, Just from a dees perspective, where do you think a bid comes for Kynan Brown, if at all? I watched his game last week and I thought he was a bit 'meh'. His 2 underage teammates looked a truckload better but I've heard Kynan Brown could be a guy around the 30 range? His skills just seem nqr

I think that's more to do with wanting to maintain as much of the list as possible, as much as they've gradually improved (first 4 rounds this year excluded) they do still have an oddly balanced list, some promising youngsters but not many of those 24-28 year old best 22 options, so keeping the youngsters as long as possible to see which ones are capable of replacing the older players would've been a priority, but this year I expect they'll need quite a few list spots if they want to get all their draftable academy prospects on the list

He's improved from last year for sure, but very much a late-rookie prospect as it stands. Not a massive ball winner as an inside mid and a little undersized for the modern game, but can win it in close well enough and has good hands under pressure, so there's a bit to work with but some limitation for sure

PMBangers did u watch Curtin or Tholstrup? I see Curtin kicked 2G and Tholstrup 1G. I assume Curtin played as a fwd. Did Tholstrup run through the mid as well?

As with all the top agers at Oakliegh it has been a very disruptive start to the season due to so many off field changes. Additionally, I think you will see huge improvement in Kynan Brown when the private school boys are out of the team.
