PMBangers- who is the best of the rest after the top 9?

And how did you get so good at werewolf?
Oh it's impossible to tell! The next group in my rankings is pretty close, with Caddy, Croft, Wilson, Windsor, Edwards and Leake all offering something different to each other. Come draft night I expect Caddy goes in the top 8 or so, with Sanders, Watson or O'Sullivan making way for him.

And it's my natural talent of manipulation mostly

PmBangers If You were Essendons list manager and had 3x draft picks in the 11-20 range. Say 11,14 and 19 who would you want?
Ideal world scenario for Essenson there would be Ollie Murphy and Caleb Windsor at 11 and 14, but with bids knocking a few clubs back I think Murphy would be gone realistically, but it's nice to dream. Then 19 is a bit more of an open range of prospects, I imagine an inside mid like Demattia would be good though given his athleticism

Why Murphy? Is another Key Defender really needed after bringing in McKay. Or is he just that good?

He's good and I don't think a one in and one out trade period for your KPDs is enough to sure up the stocks, especially woth Reid's injury history to date. Even without that, Murphy's probably 3 years off being a consistent KPD at the next level, so it's a pick for the future

Interesting way of spelling Darcy Wilson and Riley Hardeman 👀

Wilson is pretty transferable with Windsor to be fair, one of them would fit but I think Windsor's use by foot is more consistent and he's a little better defensively, but Wilson has more scope to develop in roles away from the wing as well imo.

Didn't think Essendon would want anymore back flankers, but Hardeman is certainly a good one to want

Funny thing is I have medium Back flanker as the number 1 need on the list.

The only decent user of the ball out of the back half is Ridley. Redman’s okay as a 2nd option but all of Redman/Mcgrath/hind are more run and carry players rather then great kicks. Also 2/3 of those players aren’t very good.

I’d say 1x inside mid and 2x good midsize flankers are the teams biggest needs at present

James Leake would be of interest then, a lot of versatility but I think he ends up a defender at the next level, really good user and interceptor, and just an exceptional mark

Hi PMBangers. Big fan.

I may have missed it, but what is your opinion on Jack Delean, and could he be available near the start of the second round?
He'll most definitely be available at the start of the second round!

I think he's probably the smartest forward in the pool outside of Watson and maybe Walter, elite goal sense and has been consistent at U18s level for 3 seasons now. Good skills and footy IQ as well, but not sure how his athleticism will hold up as a genuine small forward at the next level, he's got a decent leap but lacks agility and speed, he's gotten away with it so far due to that footy IQ, but I don't think he's getting away with it against AFL level opposition.

Yeah I like him a lot. Worried he doesn’t last to 11. Reminds me of Dyson Heppell somewhat. I’d think with his versatility if he can build a tank wing would be ideal.

I think my ideal draft with 3 picks in the 11-20 range would be 3 of Leake, Wilson, Edwards, Hardeman and tholstrup

Edwards competition level makes me nervous but his ceiling is worth it if he’s 1/3 chances in that range

How does he compare to Michael Walters? Sonny isn't fast but very smart with great goal sense and great skills. Does have good agility.

I know you focus on the U18's mate but who'd be your top 5 "mature &/or over agers" ?

Sam Closhey
Kai Owens
Kobe Ryan
Adam D'Aloia
Toby Mcquilkin
Jack Avery
Mutor El Nour

Probably the leading guys. Any one else you have heard or like ?
Basing this all almost entirely on their U18's years but I did think Clohesy had done enough for Calder as an 18/19 year old to get picked up, seems he's continued to improve and perform at state league level and with, with the exception of last year, the VFL young player of the year award has a decent strike rate at the next level. D'Aloia and Ryan I still don't think get drafted despite really good state league seasons, neither have really progressed as players enough to warrant it imo, the others I've watched none of this year so can't really comment, Jack Avery would've had to have improved by a fair amount to be considered since 2021 though

I'd say Walters, or at least peak Walters, was comfortably ahead. Delean can be elusive at times but genuine agility is pretty poor

Maybe Miers a better comparison?

Earlier in the year I had Freijah and Evans as likely second round material, they both seem to have dropped away. Do you know of any specifics as to why?

Freijah is still there abouts, he just hasn't put up any more 6 goal games so hasn't warranted much hype since.

Evans had a pretty underwhelming chance and then seemed to drop a bit in the SANFL/ Reserves afterwards, but I think he'll still get picked up

We have two left footed defenders left on the list in Heppell and Kelly. Massive need

Fair warning, going to be spamming the draft profiles I've written up as they get published to RMC over the next few weeks =)

3 players that are more likely to be taken 30+ if they go in the national draft to start up, I'm pretty high on Gothard and O'Leary in comparison to others, Gothard in particular I think will end up the second best small forward in the class behind Watson
