Watson has a 2.92 20m and a 8.1 second agility run.

Watson has absolutely electric speed combined with top 1% agility.


It would have got him 4th in the 20m and 2nd in the agility run at last years national combine. He would have finished 2nd in the vertical and top 10 in the Yo-Yo in that groups preseason testing.

People are way too enamoured with him

C.Cameron is probably close to the quickest player in the comp right now

And Caleb one of the best kicks in the comp

Did you read what I wrote?

2.92 second 20m (i.e Patrick Dangerfields 20m time and faster than Rankines 2.93) and a 8.097 second agility test (i.e very similar time to Isak Rankines combine topping time in the 2018 combine).

You were insinuating Cameron being "alot" faster and agile than that athletic profile, it's not possible....

The only 18 year old footballer to get instantly slower and less agile the minute he walks in the door of a professional sporting organisation.

Not only that, all 169cm's & 67kg man child of him is just likely to stagnate because he peaked at 16.


I swear, no draftee in history has had this weird fierce opposition to them, no matter their performances or physical data you present.

I habe him around the 8-13 mark, so thats one of the best players in the pool

He will have huge immediate impact at AFL level, probably kick 30-35 goals a year early on (Pending club he gets to)

Definitely think small players can be under rated

Gulden and Butters flying the flag most helps his case for top 10

Butters is listed at 181cm. That makes him towards the smaller end of full-time midfielders but certainly not unusually small.

Gulden is listed at 176cm, so a fair bit taller than Daniel or Watson. And despite all his talents, I suspect his height will somewhat limit him as his career progresses. Another four or five cm and he might get to the level that Butters is currently playing at. But he probably won't ever be a full-time onballer at 176cm.

Rather than looking at the 20m sprint times where its a non competitive weather environment. I think it is more important how fast they can run with the ball as well as bouncing. Danger and C. Cameron are elite at this. I don't see too many in Coates League at speed.

Its also running on a basketball court in sneakers where technique to not initiate the clock is also more important to the final outcome

Clubs only use it as a guage

They go off speed based on what they see in game day more than those results

You do realise on field speed and agility on turf can be very different to running on hard boards...much much different

Yes.

But Watson is extremely agile and quick on the field and uses that pace and agility regularly, so that is irrelevant.

Wilson, I love Freijah but Wilson's just that bit cleaner by foot at the moment, but if you're specifically looking for a winger I'd go Freijah.

Hall v McAuliffe is more down to the type of mid you want. Hall's been a consistent accumulator this year and balances his inside and outside game better, and his running capacity is superb so just goes all day. McAuliffe less consistent but has a better contested and defensive game atm.

Where does Lachlan Smith from Gippsland power rank for you? Watched him the other day and moves well for a big fella and was surprised he isn't rated higher
