I thought that was one of his poorer games aswell, certainly a top 10 prospect but still plenty of other midfielders staking their claims like Smillie, Smith, O’Sullivan, Gross and Draper. We haven’t seen him in the champs yet but Murphy Reid from Sandringham aswell is another strong midfield prospect.
Give a dog a bone.

Top 5?

Having watched the Allies v Vic Metro game Ashcroft clearly looks pick 1 for next year’s draft Levi looks just as good as Will did
As eDPS said there's a lot of good midfielders 18 months out that all have claims to it, but you're not wrong with Levi looking as good, if not better, than Will early days.

This is of course in line with the rule of "the younger brother is always better"

Chris Scott said (albeit in a throw away line) on 360 that Levi is probably the better player. Huge if true.

Have the Allies sewn up the Championship, given the % difference between them and Country/Metro?
You never know, they could lose to Country by 20 goals with Country proceeding to win the rest of their games by 10 goals!

Got around to watching the WA v Country replay, by far the best game of the Champs so far but that's probably because it's been the only one that's been genuinely competitive. It's not often you watch a game and come out of it feeling like no one did their draft stocks any harm, it was just good to see genuinely every player on the ground have a moment or two that was noteworthy. Anyway, random observations;

- A lot of Country players stood out to me as being a bit better than I initially thought; Angus Hastie and Luamon Lual I knew had the potential and had seen them impact but felt something had been missing, both played well against WA with Lual not showing some of the inconsistencies by foot he has done in the past. Charleson is a player that is pushing himself up my board every game he plays, he reminds a bit of Noah Long with what looks like better speed. De Mattia was good without being outstanding, I see the appeal of a burst contested midfielder, and some of his kicking (more for distance and penetration than accuracy) was good and kept Country moving forward quickly, but he needs to improve his ball use by hand from the inside to be a genuine top 15 contender for me. Kade De La Rue didn't have a huge game on the stats sheet but I think I'm liking him more in a half forward role than through the midfield, I'm not saying he's as good or will get as good as Harry Sheezel, but there's some similarities there in their ball use and smarts in the attacking half. Billy Wilson again pretty good as a rebounder, I mentioned it pre-champs but I feel Country have the best backline when it comes to transition work and Wilson is a big part of that, a little work to do on his defending in general but enough there to like, maybe a winger at the next level.

- Michael Rudd gets his own bullet point here because he showed a contested marking side to his game I haven't seen before, traditionally more a 'smarts over strength' target up forward with his leading and repeated efforts. He's a hard one to gauge in terms of draft position given his height as a KPF and the fact he doesn't look that athletic, but his skills and smarts are up there. Will be interesting to see him against a Connor O'Sullivan type if we get that match up this Sunday

- WA had a lot more 'solid contributors' rather than standouts in general, it was nice to see Collard have a bit more of a sustained impact across the 4 quarters, if he can continue to show improvement in that regard I think he ends up a top 30 pick. Evan Smith had some good moments, doesn't look super natural as a forward but showed some good work aerially and nice set shot routine. Reece Torrent I've been impressed with in all the WA games so far, it's mostly been his kicking and I wasn't let down for this game either. He has a lot going for him in general but I'd love to see him nail a position down in the last part of the season rather than acting as a 'Mr. Fix It' for his sides, personally I see a half back early in his career before moving to a midfield role.

- Clay Hall is one of the hardest prospects in the draft for me, his performances, consistency and two way running are really eye catching, and his ball use as well as his contested game is improving, but for some reason I'm less convinced by him now than I was 6 months ago. It might just be a case of judging him too harshly but he looks a little slow to me, it'll be easier to judge in person at RSEA but he is tentatively in my top 20 at the moment for the first three traits, but as a prospect I wouldn't be surprised if he was a 35-40 pick regardless of how others perform for the remainder

I will be there watching with you, I have noticed that anyone who stands on Clays left side nullifies him and his output. He has no right side at all by hand OR foot. Clubs can see that too, can he rectify it, I’m not sure, he never tries to, I would love to see him try his right side when the opportunity calls for it but when it does he never does or it’s horrible to watch. People love him and some are enamoured with what he does in the middle, I struggle to like his game Apart from his bullishness towards a contest. These days sometimes that may be a good enough start.

Ive actually been impressed by Halls disposal/kicking and his acceleration than i have him credit for

He is a hard one to place, be very interesting how hes seen by recruiters

A few of those bigger mids with limited upside have been taken in the 2nd and 3rd rounds even though theyve dominated u18s, is he in that basket or is his kicking and acceleration enough to seperate him from those types

Matt Roberts
Ned Long
Jack Graham
Zane Trew
Dev Robbo (slid)
Ramsay
Rantall
Bytel
J.Ross
C.Mcfayden
Luke English
Tyler Brown

Types, some of those tombf probs a fair few are smaller. Hes better than all of those i think

Could go high around as high as 12 with the lack of mids and if someone sees him as a big mid, good acceleration, dominant league games for a 18 yr old, and a nice left foot and big champs

Alright new question, and I’ve done my research here so I’m pretty sure he’s eligible this year. Jack Michalanney for the Crows, any shot and if so in what range? Thanks PMBangers and anyone else that’s got any info.

Jack is also next year

Also ModernArtillery is the guy for SA footy, I pay little attention to players not in the state squad if in watching a stream, which is always the case for SA/WA state league footy

The boys are both likely to get drafted next year in my opinion. Lucas more silky and Ben extremely contested and plays tough either inside the contest in the middle or across half back. Ben needs to improve his disposal a little but can certainly win it and has good speed/endurance mix. Lucas has always had heaps of class but the contest side of his game was always a question. Looks to have a grown into his body a bit this year and is now capable of winning his fair share of 1 on 1s in the contest. They will unquestionably go past some of their more highly credentialed team SA bottom age team mates in the next 12 months.
