Can you confirm if this guy's surname is pronounced Off?

I've never spoken to him but yes

Have Will Lorenz, Harvey Johnston and Will Brown slid much after the champs or do they still fit in that 20 - 40 range?

They slide everytime they are asked about specifically

But no, they are all still in the 20-40 range as it stands, although Lorenz is admittedly close to falling out

The Saints haven't had a small backman, since S.Baker & S.Sziller, need one. How has young Jed Hagan been playing? in the SA league.
Thought he would be picked up last year.

I haven't watched him outside the AFL Academy game this year but I can't imagine much has changed in his playing level otherwise we'd be hearing about it in the media

After doing 2 years at Melbourne Grammar, the chances of Sanders going back to Tassie are minimal. Melbourne has him now.

Mckercher more of a potential risk, but that's where recruiting the two of them together comes in.
You would be surprised the Tassie pride factor, it's different to most mainland teams and more like State of Origin football. If we have what essentially will be a state team in the AFL, a lot of our players would love to come back to play for Tassie. Doesn't mean they all will and life circumstances can make it difficult, but the lure of being an inaugral member of a Tasmanian team will be quite big.

I agree Tasmanians are very proud about being Tasmanian and the opportunity to be part of the inaugural team will be a huge draw.
As you say, it doesnt make it a forgone conclusion by any means.

I would still draft the Tasmanian boys if the opportunity presented it, and if they go back so be it. Every player is a somewhat of a risk of leaving for any number of reasons.

What's the knock on Brown? I am really hoping we look at him with our 2nd if he is around.
I agree, I like the look of him. At 194cm who has great versatility and athleticism. I think he was a bit inconsistent in the national champs, whether that was from injury or sickness I'm not sure. But being skipper of Vic metro must mean he is well respected by his peers, he's certainly someone with a lot of potential if he can piece it all together which he has done a few times this year. He will be an interesting one to watch for the remainder of the year.

Colby responded to the Tassie Team question on Sen Tassie on Monday ~4.50in.

You think a player in his draft year is going to say "Yes I can't wait to play for Tasmania as soon as we come in to the competition"? He said exactly what he had to say there. Maybe he will stay and be loyal, but if his plan was to jump ship as soon as Tassie comes in, he isn't going to say it while he is trying to get drafted lol.

Just sharing. :thumbsu:

He doesn't impose himself physically through the midfield as much as you want to see from a 194 cm prospect currently, and has a real habit of turning back into traffic (although this aspect of his game is improving slowly), so I'm not fully convinced he actually ends up a midfielder at AFL level, may end up a tall flanker sort instead

He must hate his mum and dad. Pity Bruce isnt commentating any more, he would love calling his name.

Is Nick Watson as good defensively as he is offensively?

Davo-27 put an answer in his thread to this, I agree with him that Nick Watson is okay defender, not a liability but he is much more an offensive weapon than he is a defensive hunter. Having said that though, an offensive weapon will often keep a rebounding defender to be more circumspect, so that implicitly helps defensively.
