Is this the most underwhelming draft in a long time?

Can't think of a more uninspiring top 10. Usually when you're struggling to figure out a top 10 it's because there are so many good prospects but I can barely find 10 players that excite me.
Pretty much. I'm coming around to the idea of there being enough potential role players for it not to be a disaster of a draft, but at this stage, and this could change in rewatching the Champs of course, I really only see 2, maybe 3, players that would be Top 10 considerations in most other years. For example I'd say Duursma is my number 1 at the moment and I don't think he'd crack the top 7 last year, and Uwland as No. 2 would probably go at around 12-15

Hey mate, love your work.
Thoughts on kellaways draft range and what type of player is?
Much appreciated
I'll pull the cliche out and say he's a footballers footballer, does the fundamentals well and seems more enthused by getting teammates into the game as opposed to standing out himself. I'd say he's looking more 25+ at this point just due to being pretty 'vanilla' without a standout athletic trait, but has looked more and more draftable as the years gone on

Need to do more of a deep dive but surface level I really like him, shares some similar traits, good and bad, with his brother

I know it’s early to call but what type of range do you see him getting picked?

Athleticism and ability to impact in multiple roles aren't getting any less desirable, combine that with his creativity with ball in hand and it points to a first round prospect, but again need to have a game where I focus on him before I can confidently say that

Bangers, any Coates league kids, not in the championships that you like?

ive got a couple that have piqued my interest but keen to hear your thoughts (obviously not club tied please)
Not really, the guys I thought looked draftable early that didn't make it have been with school footy or just not kicked on that much

Sam Nicklaus any interest, been very good off half back when he's actually got to play for the Rebels, foot skills a highlight.

Haven't really watched much Rebs recently but will keep an eye out

any names you wanna drop to keep an eye out for ?

Will Malady kicked 3 last week, Willem Hannagraf returned from injury and looked great for Cannons as well. Coulpe at Dandenong who have attributes imho

I liked Luca Tonner (Dandenong) and Charlie Sizer (Eastern) a lot for their marking ability but think both are more State League ceiling players.

Malady is a good one to track for next year, would be odds on to be AFL Academy

didn't realise Will was an underage, cheers!

I like Max Lee and even Sam Lewis from Rays as well, although both later/state league prospects

Where would Langford rate in this years draft - Dees trading their 2025 1st rounder for Langford might be a very good move.
I didnt really rate Langford so I'm probably not the best person to ask, but I'd say he'd be a good chance for Pick 1 given the consensus of him last year

They didn't trade that pick. They traded the one for Lindsay.

Where do you rate Dovaston?

To me he plays somewhere between a Dahlhaus type competitive 'scrapper' and Watson minus the field kicking.

Noting Dahlhaus went in the rookie draft and Watson was a top 5 pick.

He seems the exact type of player the bulldogs need in the front half.

I'd say borderline top 10 for me currently but that's more due to not having done my rewatches of champs, definitely the best Small Forward in it

Who doesn't need one of that type?

It would be a short list. Perhaps the Crows and Brisbane. Can definitely see Carlton interested, FS picks permitting.

I would think this Dahlhouse with defensive mindset is going to be decent. Can't see him getting past ~19 (~27) surely, but then again there's a way to go.

Hey Bangers,
Interested in your thoughts on Avery Thomas from Tasmania. Got a late call up for Allies and performed pretty well in 2 of the 3 games. He’s come from nowhere and noticed Cal Twomey mentioned potentially having him inside his own top 20 on gettable a few weeks ago.
