Who do you think st Kilda might be looking at with there first pick and do you think philipou would be a reach to take in the top 10 ? Cheers

A dynamic midfielder or a KPF is what I'd guess after a quick glance at the Saints list, so Schubert/ Ludowyke are two talls within that discussion and then a midfielder like Cumming or Duursma, if they make it that far.

Depends on Phillipous form in the second part of the season, he's got the traits to be a top 10 pick in this draft and a 'pick me' performance would just about lock it in

Not going to happen I don't think if Phillipou continues to play senior SANFL footy for WWT with them being a million miles off the pace recently and an absolute mess form wise. They've been absolutely trounced and look like a club in real trouble under coach Sam Jacobs.

Not done much playing forward mostly but not a lot of footy coming his way especially last week against Norwood where they got flogged by 20+goals. Had a bit better game the week before against the bottom team West Adelaide.

Not a great situation for the lad to show off his talents unfortunately unless WWT get competitive again.

The U18 showcase game on Grand Final day could be his best opportunity for that "pick me" game as Bangers puts it?

I'd hazard a guess it'll reach a point where Cook and Jev head back to U18s level to secure finals and finish strongly there so he'll have midfield opportunity if that eventuates, but still has North and South Adelaide at league level to hopefully put up some bigger numbers as a forward.

You didn't watch last week's game against Norwood? Looked like the Senior players have checked out to me.

Has SANFL U18's form suddenly become a bigger factor with recruiters because of a one year better Nationals campaign?

If clubs with early picks before the Sun's pick don't bid on Dylan Patterson they're being derelict in their duty IMO.

No player in this draft projects to bring bums on seats like him if everything goes well with his development.

I think the Eagles will use it to help bundle up to Ports pick (if it’s low enough) Zeke and Dylan not getting a bid on them with the first 2 picks helps the suns. Eagles go into the draft with 1,2*,Ports and Hawks first.

To be bluntly honest, Phillipou and Cook are better off playing Under 18's where they can at least dominate in their respective positions in a better side per comp rather than cop absolute pastings in the league side that has more injuries than Essendon. Half forward in that side aint a pretty spot to play. Cook been mostly half back at league level and been decent but full time on ball is where he belongs.

Honestly struggling to get 30 but right now (and I know I keep saying this but I need to rewatch champs again);
1. Willem Duursma

8. Mitch Marsh
9. Harley Barker

And then I'm still making my mind up on about 26 others, these are the guys I'm 100% confident will be AFL level players, even if that does just end up being a role player. Should get time from mid August to do what I need to do to consolidate and be confident in a proper rankings, but I think it might end up being around 25 in total

Yeah Young comparisons sit right with me in terms of his disposal quality from back half.
Only really watch GWS properly but Taylor has a similar skillset to Idun from my pov, reliable and versatile defensively is the biggest appeal but can contribute in offense

Hey Polkinghorne, well that is an interesting take, but that's your opinion so fair enough. From my viewpoint, the skills were probably 3/10, some other boys had good games but overall a very average game. Now for the All Australian team, I think some of the SA boys might have something to say about that, and while making the All Australian team is a huge tick of approval, this year it might be best not to focus too heavenly on it and I think recruiters will be of the same opinion.

Yes last years draft was an exceptional one, there's a couple of boys in this draft that project exciting capabilities and strangely enough they wont go in the first four selections.

Those selections can include a rookie promotion (from rookie to senior list)
