I'm probably the only person on this forum who makes money as a podcaster.

I won't bother posting the podcasts I listen to because chances are none of you have ever heard of any of them.

And I definitely won't link to my own podcast, that goes without saying.

It wasn't until about 2014 that I even started listening to podcasts, now I find it strange when I meet people who don't listen to podcasts.

I probably spend 10x or 20x as much time listening to podcasts as I do listening to music.

Also I don't use a podcast feed, I download and then transfer the mp3 of every podcast I listen to to my phone to listen to.

That's my 2c.

Ah you're Meshel Laurie. Makes sense now.

I agree on the podcast listening thing, I'm in my 40s and rarely listen to music these days and listen to podcasts as much as I can. I can't really keep up with the content I want to listen too. Not enough

Yet you don't want to post what it is to potentially make more money?

It's about something creepy, innit? I'm guessing feet.

I'm in a constant struggle of trying to catch up on my growing backlog of podcasts to listen to.

My life plays podcast whack a mole.
It's hard when you find a new Podcast and you know you'll have to drop one of your existing ones to have enough hours in the week to listen.

David Tennant hosts a podcast with...

Recommended by TheBigBlueBox podcast (Dr Who related)

They mentioned the Jim Parsons episode season 2

Brilliant. Hooked within 5 minutes

Off to listen to David Tennant hosts a podcast with... George Takei

Bill Simmons for American sport talk
The grade cricketer
Occasionally check out Sam Newmans if the guest is interesting to me

Andrew Bogut has started a podcast which I will check out to see what it's like.

Pretty much exclusively podcasts on my work travels now.

Weekly it's Conan O'Brien Needs A Friend, Double Impact, Office Hours Live w/Tim Heidecker, With Gourley And Rust and We Hate Movies while then squeezing in catch ups on How Did This Get Made?, Team Effort and Office Ladies and now trying to get through SmartLess (Jason Bateman, Will Arnett and Sean Hayes). Had to write off some shows entirely.

Joe Rogan Experience
The Fighter & The Kid
This Past Weekend - Theo Von

I'd recommend the latter to anybody looking for a laugh and some interesting takes on the dark arts. Onward.

Pretty much my go-tos. History Hyena’s with Chris DiStefano and Yannis Pappas is my current favourite. Pretty much any podcast featuring that general cast is what I usually listen to or watch snippets of.

King & The Sting is good, but has jumped the shark a bit.

I find Theo is usually a good guest, but TPW can be pretty hit and miss. Conversely I like watching Tigerbelly because Bobby Lee brings out the best in his guests, but he doesn’t do much when he drops in on other podcasts.

Mark Normand has to be the next to get his own podcast. Consistently funny, and flows with whoever he’s riffing with.

Hunting the Butcher, nice little series I have just finished. About a Mossad agent hunting down a Nazi in South America after World War 2. Very entertaining.

Have the podcast bug hard after not really been interested a few years ago.

My major weekly rotations are

Music
What a great punk - These New South Whales (great music and TV guests, very funny)
No dogs in space
Silverchair: too much of not enough

Mental Health
The Imperfects
Calm ya farm
Wilosophy: Wil Anderson

Random
Somehow related: Glenn Robbins and Dave O’Neil

Bruce Springsteen and Barrack Obama have done a great podcast together called Renegades - Born In The USA. They speak about a variety of different things, their upbringing, racism, American society, relationship with their father's, to name a few.

Well worth the listen.

Done by the wife of Rian Johnson
Ah. Was not aware of that.
When first listening to the podcast, was unsure about her narrating style and presentation, but it really grew on me as the series progressed.
Have not listened for a while. Must get back into it.
As an aside and completely unrelated, am trying to persist with Chas L on his PEP "Planet America" podcast.
He is beginning to grate on me with his hobby horses. Does not always allow his guests enough space to develop their stories or observations as well.
It is a pity as the discussions can be very interesting and perceptive.
Ah well. It his Podcast after all and I am not compelled to listen.
