An interesting general view, but could apply to Fev:

"As you search for the magic ingredient to this surprising Swans team, the man who put the pieces together, recruiting manager Rick Barham, provides the first clue: "You won't find a **************** on our list." That, Barham acknowledges, is due partly to the club's groundbreaking player welfare policy, something initiated not merely to keep players out of trouble but to keep them in Sydney.

But "no ****************s" is also recruiting policy. Many times, says Barham, potential recruits with superior skill have been overlooked in the draft because they have not had the right character.

"I won't name the names, but we've been laughed at sometimes for overlooking kids because they didn't have the qualities we wanted," Barham says. "A few years later, the same blokes are making headlines for the wrong sort of things. They're underperforming or getting traded. Sometimes they are even getting offered to us."

Did we offer them Nathan Brown?

I agree though... tallent isn't all that should be addressed when it comes to drafting a player.

However, I think Barry Hall would've fit into the ********** category when he was traded.

Nothing to do with FEV:

Footydraft have put Pods up for the National Draft. Their word is Sydney with pick 61 seems to be likely.

Interesting seeing the didn't take him last year.

Interesting.

Bulldogtragic, I think it is still last year's profile that is posted at the footydraft site. Sydney don't have pick 61, rather pick 67 this year, I believe.
Pods did go to Sydney the week before the draft last year and apparently sprained an ankle in training which hurt his chances. However, Sydney told him that he was close and that he should improve his kicking and power if he wanted to have a real crack. He has certainly done so.
With 5 retirements at Sydney and no delistings as yet, I think it would be safe to assume that they may keep their eye on him, especially after seeing his improvement this year.
