As good as Ablett is - at his price you have to be pretty sure you will get those top scores from the start (even one or two ordinary scores will absolutely sink his price). Otherwise why not just start with a Selwood or Beams or similar and you may get the same score over the season anyway for less cost. I'm probably going in without him for the first time (unless the news i'm hearing changes dramatically). This is likely to be one of the first pivotal decisions for all us supercoaches this year.

Just throwing it out there but his first game will only affect one price change, his second game two and third game three just with his three week rolling average. If it takes him 2 games to get into it he might have two weeks of a price drop and rise back up again..

With the amount of midfield depth and talent Gold Coast have, I seriously doubt they're going to risk Ablett by throwing him into the deep end first game back from injury.

Here's one that hasn't been mentioned at all

Scott Selwood 433k MID (priced at 80 ppg)

Has always been more of a DT player, but did average 104.0 & 103.8 in SC 2012 & 2013 (40 games)

Played his 1st pre-season game against Freo on Sunday & didn't tag. 25 possies, 6 marks, 4 tackles & 117 SC

Would love to hear some WCE supporters thoughts on Scooter as a SC mid-priced Mid CJApples87 Double the Fist

What about Will Langford, any thoughts on him going up in price and can you see him being a solid scorer ? I know he is fantasy relevant but not sure if he is better suited to DT or AFL Fantasy, he looks to be SC relevant dependant on his role this year within the team.Last year he was a Defender, this year he is a midfielder.

Definitely considering, higher ceiling then any of wells/rich but a little more expensive too. On my radar and 50/50 to get into the team round 1.
Won't be a keeper though IMO

Don't know if this has been asked but I'm heavily looking at Trent Mckenzie can he breakout this year?

Was on my radar for a little. Didn't impress in the nab though, seemed to be playing pretty deep in defense and hasn't used his massive kick a lot since his first year.
A no for me. Can't see him averaging more then 90 at best. More likely to be 80ish again.

What about Paddy Crips looking good in the blues mid

I'm massively biased considering he's my favourite player... :D

However, a return to the Best and Fairest winning Scott Selwood would be a fantastic stepping stone to an ultra premium, I would've thought (even a an M8 come year's end if he's getting his average up there). He looked fit and firing yesterday and didn't seem to be hampered by his pre-season injury (which it turns out the staff were just being precautionary with him) but he did have a much higher Disposal Efficiency than he normally has, so perhaps his score is skewed a little. His DE in 2012 was superb, but dropped down a bit the past two years. I'm hoping he is freed of the tag, because I think he is a much better player when he's allowed to attack.

For me he is a lock in DT and he certainly wouldn't be as bad an option in SC. Perhaps Neale has more upside in that range, but Scooter will be a great pick if he's not the tagger.

Thanks mate. I already have him in RDT (LOCK!) was just curious as to his SC potential. I agree Neale is more likely (this year) for a similar price point, Jack Steven probably as well. Won't be at all surprised to see Scooter average 100-105 again though.

Still sitting in my team! Think steven is more likely but Neale i'm iffy about. His bye round is what gets him over the line.

Anyway another one to look at in the forward line.
Devon Smith. Thoughts?

Devon was in my initial version 1 team, but has since been moved on since there are just too many rookie priced forward cash cows I want so only 3 premo forwards for me. Having said that, I reckon Devon will average 100+ this year.

Devon Smith is a gun and if he fits your structure lock him in, he will get you solid scores, he tackles, he kicks goals. I had him from just after the bye rounds last season and he didnt let me down.

I agree, won't be a keeper. Nor will any of the 400-500k mids IMO. I think Steven will go closest FWIW.
Personally, I would much rather start with one of the mid/fwd DPP guys (Swan, Bontempelli, TMitch) in that spot. At least you know they are a decent chance of being keepers as forwards, and you can get them there via DPP link when you trade.

Agree with this assessment, they'll play him predominantly as a forward when he gets back. He can still snag 4 goals and pick up 25 disposals playing in that position mind you. Would love it if he were picked, play for a half or so then subbed out.

I'm tryna go for a more POD team.
Am just wondering which Defenders would be considered as PODs from 450k upwards.
And also what percentage does a player have to be owned by to be considered one?
Thanks guys :)

Going out to the north supporters on here.

B Jacobs. Still a sub vest candidate?
Went reasonably in the NAB and absolutely racks them up in the vfl. Could he play a decent supercoach role at North??

Not sure if it's the right thread but, what are your thoughts on Nick Haynes?
Don't like him, already got hampton and shaw for coming out of defence.

I reckon I'm going to go in with the burn man shaun higgins hate to say it but could thrive in a good team :)
