Not taking JOM and Swallow would be PODish. I'm not sure what the plan is with people who are taking one or both of these players, do they expect both to become keepers? This is what needs to probably happen to justify their selections at their prices. It reminds me of the Libba situation from last season and he was a fallen premium, he failed to cement himself as a genuine premo last season and the initial outlay on him would have been better served in playing a rookie and starting with an extra premium elsewhere. JOM and Swallow both would need to average at least 105 to be considered passes and this is even debatable, the fact that they are both extremely fragile injury wise and have never averaged midfield premium averages before indicates that they are not the massive locks they are made out to be in popular media. Two of Powell-Pepper, Barrett and Wigg would be more than decent in starting midfield spots.

If they averaged 105 it would be more than a pass if you take into account the money you saved went toward another premo plus you could pay 550k+ for a player and he may only average that or less anyway. Jager would be a keeper if fit, swallow at his price could make as much money as some rookies whilst scoring you more points in the process.
If they stay fit then those who start with them likely will be ahead of those who never, but if they go down then those who never had them most definitely will be ahead, that's the conundrum.

Not only do they have to stay fit but they have to score at historically high levels to justify their starting price, the odds of that happening aren't high imo. Another more expensive selection could flop but by going a pure gnr approach with proven guns, you're minimizing this risk.

Like to think my team is somewhat unique...
DEF: Montagna (3.2%) and Tuohy (9.9%)
MID: Rockliff (9.3%), J.Selwood (4.8%) and Treloar (13.8%)
FWD: Riewoldt (8.3%) and Wingard (6.3%)

Reverse psychology. I like it.

Stunned that Zerrett is in only 3.7% of teams at the moment.
people feel there are more proven options around his price. also worried about the return of the banned Bombers.

looked very good in JLT1 though. Kid is a star, people just like other 600k+ mids plus a mix of the fallen premos and Jaeger/Swallow

I'd be glad to hear alternatives as what would constitute a success in picking that players other than they turning into premiums.
Success would be a 9 week rental that'll net me GAJ after his bye.

Swallow at M7 can do that quicker than any of the other average mid rookies available.

At an additional initial cost of $160k, that cash could take you from another speculative pick somewhere else to a genuine premium. Wouldn't JOM be a better player for this particular strategy anyway considering he'll play round 9?

If you limit the amount of spec pics (GnR) it's worth a punt particularly with this average crop of mid rookies.

Didn't see the edit. JOM would be the better option in re: byes but gut says that he'll crash before then.

? This statement doesn't make sense, can you clarify plz.

So JOM scoring 95SC points at 340K and earning 200K is worse than a failed rookie selection whilst building SC points in a know mid drought position of SC 2017?
Picks like this are Gold.

It doesn't make sense because I was waxing at the same time and so it was difficult. 95 won't get him $200k

You were Waxing?

SPP will not get the cashola flowing as quick as JOM, he seems raw as fk and may not make that by the bye.
JOM looks like a loaded gun and ready to go 95+ and deliver the cash NOW!!

How Dylan Roberton can go from the absolute crab he was at freo to even be considered in a SuperCoach side now will never cease to amaze me. A credit to saints coaching staff I guess.
Let's just remember he left Freo when he was 21. Unless your name is Chris Judd or Marcus Bontempelli, chances are you're not going to be dominating the league at that age.
