Interesting. Why is that so?
every century year is not a leap year, except fourth century year. so 1200, 1600, 2000, 2400, 2800 are leaps years. 1800, 1900, 2100, 2200 were not. Having just experienced 2000 as a leap year, not many around at the moment are aware of this rule of the calendar.

It's all to do with corrections in the calendar. Every knows it's not exactly 365 days to circle the sun completely, but neither is it exactly 1461 days to circle it four times.

The reason why some calendar years repeat other years is because of something called a Perpetual Calendar.

It is a series of 14 calendars (7 common years, 7 leap years.)

For instance, September 3 1991 (my DOB) was on a Tuesday.
September 3 2002 was on a Tuesday.
September 3 2013 was on a Tuesday.

It was proposed in the Rhode Island legislature in the 1970s that there be enacted a $2.00 tax on every act of sexual intercourse.

A similar scenario was the premise for a Month Python sketch. The punchline was something like, "it'd sure make chartered accountancy a more interesting profession!"

One in seven UK banknotes carries traces of anal bacteria.

The offspring of a polar bear and a grizzly bear is called a pizzly bear.

The ozone layer smells faintly of geraniums.

Everybody expected the Spanish Inquisition. They were legally obliged to give 30 days notice.

Kangaroos have three vaginas.
Is Lisa Sparxxx a kangaroo?

The leap year wainvented because every now and then people got super jolly and would leap everywhere than walk.
Anyway, around the time of the war people forgot this and thus the normal walking leap years we now use.

You arrived just in time to have lived in two separate palindromic years (1991 and 2002). The next one won't be until 2112, and then 2222, and then every 110 years up until 2992 and 3003 (if Earth lasts that long).

3003, eh? If you're Jewish this year is a palindromic year.

In the Jewish calendar it's the year 5775 (5775 years since the creation of the world)

In the Islamic calendar it's the year 1436 (1436 years since Muhammed moved to Medina).

(Update: As a couple people who kind of miss the point of the list -- which is to say, it's about actors who have amassed box-office tallies because of sequels -- have pointed out, Leo was actually in Critters 3. However, that never had a theatrical release, and thus does not count in his box-office tally, and for the purposes/point of this list, it is not included. But yes! You are right. He was in Critters 3. You win the Internet, you incredibly smart person, you.)
