Patricia Heaton found fame playing the role of Debra Barone, the attractive but long suffering and short tempered wife of the titular character Raymond Barone on sitcom 'Everybody Loves Raymond' which ran from 1996-2005. However, the decision as to who would play Debra was a tight choice between Patricia Heaton and attractive blonde actress Jane Sibbett.

Jane Sibbett had previously had a leading role on the largely forgotten sitcom 'Herman's Head' and would find a famous recurring role on 'Friends' for a number of years playing Ross Geller's ex-wife Carol, before Carol, her lesbian partner Susan and Carol and Ross's son Ben inexplicably fade into oblivion after 2001. The role of Carol Geller however was played by another actress in the very early episodes of Friends before being recast to Sibbett. And what was her name? Anita Barone. How freaky is that?

It isn't uncommon for families to have a private funeral or memorial service for loved ones when they pass away, with only family and some very close friends in attendance.

American actor William Holden took it one step further however, leaving a will stating that no funeral or memorial service was to be held upon his death. When Holden died aged 63 in 1981 after a fall at his home, his request was honored. Holden was cremated and his ashes buried at sea, with no funeral or memorial service held for the popular actor.

I had always thought that Queen Victoria who died in 1901 was the last English monarch from the House of Hanover, and all English monarchs since then were from the House of Windsor.

What I only learned recently was that King Edward VII, son of Victoria who came to the throne at age 60 due to his mother's longevity and died in 1910, was from the House of Saxe-Coburg rather than Windsor. His son, King George V, changed the name of the British ruling house to Windsor during the First World War.

Patty Heaton was initially supposed to play Elaine Benis in Seinfeld, before it was ultimately played by Julia Louis Dreyfus. True story.

A similar case was Frasier, where Lisa Kudrow was originally supposed to play Roz Doyle before the part went to Peri Gilpin, with Kudrow going on to play Phoebe in Friends.

Jean Claude Van Damme turned down the role of Johnny Cage from Mortal Kombat, a character inspired by him and his performance in Bloodsport, to play Guile in the Street Fighter movie.

Mortal Kombat was comfortably better received.

Brandon Lee was next choice and had agreed to the role as well but The Crow was first.

Successful sitcoms Friends and Seinfeld did not cross over directly but existed in the same TV universe thanks another sitcom from the same era Mad About You. Mad About You had a recurring character - a ditzy waitress named Ursula who is Phoebe's twin sister (both obviously played by Lisa Kudrow), with several other Mad About You Characters making a guest appearance on Friends. A previous Mad About You and Seinfeld crossover episode therefore puts all three shows in the same TV universe.

Likewise, the King of Queens and The Nanny exist in the same TV universe courtesy of Everybody Loves Raymond, but never crossed over directly. There are crossovers between ELR and KOQ, while in an episode of The Nanny Fran meets Ray Barone.

Two and a Half Men messed up somewhat with a Dharma and Greg crossover. Although Dharma and Greg had been off the air for some time, Jenna Elfman and Thomas Gibson resurrected these roles for an episode of 2.5 Men after Charlie died and his house was on the market, the once loving couple now clearly very unhappily married and fighting incessantly as they view the property. Although conceivable that these shows could exist in the same TV universe, in an earlier episode of 2.5 Men Charlie watches Dharma and Greg on TV, and adding to the confusion is that Jenna Elfman played a memorable guest role (not Dharma) in an early episode of 2.5 Men.
