Was reading the FAQ today and realised that this thread about Poker Goals for 2007+2008..
http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=289752
bought back a lot of good memories and was quite good to see how far I had personally come as a poker player...
Me 4 years ago...
That was me about 1 month into playing poker... Going from playing 25bb 6max SnG's to being IMO one of the better players at Burswood and in 2010 was for a little while in the top 0.1% of tournament players on PokerStars over a fairly small sample.
So I thought I would create this thread so we can set ourselves some goals for 2012 both on and off the live and virtual felt, and with encouragement from each other acheive our goals...
So for me in 2012
LIVE POKER
- Play 1500 hours this year in cash games
- Have at an absolute minimum the same bankroll at the end of the year as I have now
- Stop going to home games where I play in a way that gives me no positive edge
- Seat select a lot better
- Post more hands on 2+2 and here
- Play a higher % of long sessions of 10hrs plus
- Pay more attention for the first hour of a session
- Prop bet a lot less
ONLINE
- Play 0 hands of online cash
- Play very few tournaments (Probably a couple TCOOP events only and the odd Sunday Mill)
LIFE
- Live better and healthier (less 4am Maccas trips to be sure)
- Get more involved in social sports and restart my indoor soccer team
- Focus and discipline at university.
- Drinking a lesser % of the days of the week.
- Get absolutely no work done during the Olympic Games
So who has their goals for the coming year?

Im only a newbie to poker, having learnt the game with some mates at the uni campus I stay at.
Playing with 5 other people Iv won about 3 times out of 10 with a few seconds as well so Im going alright.
Played a bit on pokerstars (not for cash yet) and have made a couple of final tables in their playmoney events for Omaha, Stud and Hold em.
For 2008 and I want to go to the Casino a few times (first time will be tonight) and try play a bit more seriously and build up a proper bankroll with PokerStars.
Looking forward to it to be honest.
