The Flop - The first three community cards dealt.
The Turn - The fourth community card dealt
The River - The fifth and final community card dealt
Fourth Street - See "The Turn"
Pocket Cards - The two cards dealt to each person at the start of the hand
Paint - A picture, or face card
In Position - To act last in any round of betting.
On The Button - To have the dealer button. This means you act last in any round of betting.
Under The Gun - To be the first to act.
The Nuts - The best possible hand given the five community cards dealt.
On The Bubble - The last unpaid position in a tournament.
Face Cards - Any picture card - ie. J, K, Q, A
Rainbow - When the community cards are of three different suits, eliminating the possibility of a flush
Blank - When a community card does not help your hand
Dolly Parton - 9 5 of any suit (in reference to her famous song)
Motown - J 5 of any suit (in reference to the Jackson Five)
Big Slick - A K of any suit.
Small Blind - A forced bet that ensures action - sits left of the button
Big Blind - Sits left of the small blind and is double the stake of the small blind
Little Slick or Big Chick - A-Q
Cutoff - Position to the right of the button
Hijack - Position to the right of the cutoff
On A Draw - Needing a community card to complete your hand
Gutshot Straight Draw - Needing a card to fill in the middle of a straight. Eg. 9, 10, _, Q, K
Open Ended Straight Draw - Needing a card at either end of your straight to complete your hand. Eg. _,10, J, Q, _
Suited Connectors - Any two consecutive cards of the same suit. Eg. 9, 10 of Spades
Wired - A pocket pair
Wheel - An Ace low straight (A-2-3-4-5)
Over The Top - Making a large raise after someone else has raised before you.
Drawing Dead - When you cannot win regardless of the next card/s.
Fishing - Drawing to cards when you should be out.
Idiot End - Lower end of a straight (5-6-7-8-9 against 6-7-8-9-10)
On Tilt - Playing stupidly because you are upset/angry.
Slow Play - Play a strong hand as though its weak.
Broadway - Ace high straight (A-K-Q-J-10)
Check-Raise - Checking, then once other players have bet, raising over the top
On The Come - See "On A Draw"
Set - Three of a kind with two cards hidden (in the hole) and one card exposed.
Trips - Three of a kind with one card hidden (in the hole) and two cards exposed.
