So you are now in favour of the legalisation of illict drugs?
Now?
I've been saying for years I don't care.
So long as when they get ****ed up on drugs all medical costs are at their own expense, not at the tax payers.

How do you know?
By legalising something you are saying you condone it.
What kind of a trash society are we if we say to our children "hey, it's ok to do coke and heroin".
I'm for people doing with their money what they wish.
Where's the indignation for people who waste all their money on alcohol?
That group of people would be larger in number than any pokie addicts.

40% of total spending on pokies is from problem gamblers (P.C. Report, 2010). Therefore the government tax received from pokie revenue is a disproportionate burden on people who cannot afford it.
I'm sure somewhere on the web is a report about the psycholigical studies done by pokie machine creators and the colour and lighting of the venues to enhance the ability to capture the punter..
Some venues offer meal dockets where if you buy a sniity and schooner/wine you get 400 credits....once venues have you inside they have most of thier work done...
Even worse are those so called entertainment venues near movie theatres for children.anyone who's done an RCG course is aware at just how insidious pokies are.
the entire industry is a disgrace. aimed at doing oone thing trying convince punters they can win when they really can't.
if i was selling you a shares the way pokies are are advertised then stuck a tiny little disclaimer saying: "investing is for entertainment purposes only" in the fine print. i'd be paraded around as enemy number one.
anyone who says its for entertainment is full s**t, pokies are boring as ****, the "excitement" comes from the adrenaline rush you get when you think you can win. yet as those tiny little odds stickers show you have next to no chance of winning. what's further hidden away is that the pay out calculation does not factor in how much you "bet" put in a dollar and if it pays out 10 cents congrats you've "won" even though you lost 90 cents.
its not like other games of chance where the gambler understands what "winning is" you bet on a horse you know exactly how much your going to win. same with cards, same with roulette. same even with the lotto. But not pokies, paying out does not equal being in front and this is the heart of the problem. essentially its a shitty skill tester, where it costs more to play then the prize is worth.
Movie World, Dream World and Sea World have these type of games for children. They are obsessed by them. It is hard too explain to them that what they have won is worth 20cents and you just spent $2 or more to get it. I refuse to finance these sort of games.Even worse are those so called entertainment venues near movie theatres for children.
Trying to win an ipad or spinning wheel where you drop in $1 coins to win tickets so that they can be redeemed for prizes. Prizes which cost a couple of dollars at one dollar shops. Or where you put in coins and try to pick up a prize.
I contacted Vic Gaming and Zenophon and was told that those games are not games of chance but skill therefore legal.
Pure rubbish as it was shown on one of the current affair shows that they are rigged.
They target kids who as they get older move on to pokies. Disgrace!

Essential viewing for anybody wanting to know anout pokies and addiction.
Not fools Power Raid, addicts.
As an aside, The Victorian Responsible Gambling Foundation (an oxymoron if I've ever heard) are moving away from use of the terms "problem" and "addiction". Spineless parrotters of of the governments agenda
They may find other ways to gamble, but not always do people progress from pokies to other forms of gambling because they are not necessarily addicted to gambling as such, just addicted to poker machines, which is what they are designed to do. They really are very evil and those that manufacture them make them as addictive as possible, this is where legislation should look - the design of the machines.fair call
what ever it is, it is pretty ordinary people prey on the weak. but you can't protect these people as they will find another way to gamble if not on the pokies.

Where is Anonymous when you need them!I wouldn't cry if some virus infected the pokies and made them inoperable.
