I hardly think Polak is going to get down on his knees in the middle of Subi Oval and start snorting lines.....;)

Touche.

Does anyone else think that as Polak gets to know more people in Melbourne and establishes some contacts he may slip back into old habits? Could be one of those players that plays well at a new club for a season or two until past problems start to reappear.

Or do you think he's had his kick up the arse and is more focussed on his career now?

Polak has more ability in his little finger when you compare him to say a guy like crowely, but crowely wants it badly and now i cant imagine a lineup without him, other than if he is suspended of course, polak wont do the hard work off the track, so he relies on his natural ability during game day, and while his good games are very good, they are few and far between, im glad we shipped him off, he is no loss, and will only ever be an average player with a less than average attitude

i would love to see polak play on pavlich one on one. he has been great for us this years really stepped up has taken the big roles inb defence well. he is still young only 22.

i don't know what games you have been watching but he isn't the third man up in most contest he takes the strongest forward week in week out and does well.

i'm glad we got him an he will be pumped up this week for sure playing his old side.

last year he wasn't playing well an should have been let go he still wouldn't have gotten a game in your side still. he has stepped up this year for us an will show a few people how good he can be.

Would love to hear some examples of big jobs from Polak this year. Which gun KPP's has he played on and for how long and for what result. All he is doing is playing the role the Bowdens played last year where they racked up massive possessions in the backline by kicking across goal to each other constantly, while other teams flooded back and took advantage of the slow play out of defence.

He got 12 contested possessions out of his 25 against the Bombers a week or so ago.

He isn't a link player like the Bowdens, you'll see how he goes about it this week ;)

Polak is now a gun. Richmond needed someone like him and he needed Richmond. Perfect match and it paid off.

We'll never know if he would have put in more effort if he was at Freo this year, after missing out on finals he would have been hungrier than ever to work his way back but you'd never know if he could ignore his mates. Fact is he left and he's lifted so no use trying to make him look bad.

He was so hungry he rolled up to you very underdone according to Wallet!

Graham's a hard working and motivated boy

You're right, he's doing a pretty good job of that himself. Every time he opens his mouth blaming all and sundry for his lack of opportunities.

In '06 the game he looked for first on the fixture was the derby.

This year it's against you guys so us Richmond fans are hoping he wins us the game just he did for you guys last year :p

Hehe, it'll turn out to be a typical game I guess but it's a fun comparison to make :D

Is he seriously doing that?

When he left his line was (paraphrased): "I wasn't given the opportunity to prove myself so I had no choice but to move on to a club where I would be given the opportunities. I love the club dearly, but Richmond has promised me game time, where Freo won't do that."

By my count he had 73 opportunities at Freo to prove himself. Maybe if he worked a little harder rather than just whinge about it, the opportunities would have come and he would have got the game time.

He has been whinging like a Big Brother housemate since he left.

And this week (paraphrased): "They can boo me if they like, but it will just motivate me to play better. I was disappointed with the rumours about my off-field issues, and the only way to prove them wrong was to play good footy, but I wasn't being given the opportunity to do that."

Go have a cry Graham. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

C'mon Benny - Polak played a good game - easily his best for the year for us, but he hardly won us the game.... And the week after, he was back to his inconsistent ways again, on his way to getting dropped.

No opportunites?? Pffffttt......

He always had the talent just never showed it often enough. Amazing what a second chance does to a players career.

For their first year at least, it happens alot.

Next year will be his biggest challenge, it's where many go missing.

No Contest! One is an outstanding talent who has achieved a lot, the other is an overrated lazy dumb prik who is only just starting to realise what it's all about.

The question that has to be asked though is why is Polak playing better and regularly at Richmond? Pistol 17's theory re a second chance is credible but I'm more inclined to the fact that Wallace won't tolerate the bullshit from Polak that Connolly did.

I think getting rid of him was a pretty clear indication that they weren't going to put up with his BS. Another reason to explain his good form could be the fact that he is playing 3rd man in defense which is not such an accountable role, and that he is made to look good when compared to other Richmond players.

I'm more inclined to think that it's because he's away from all his high school mates and his party lifestyle. No distractions anymore and he's got nothing to focus on but his footy.

As has been said his true test will come in the next few years as he gets to know more people in Melbourne and has the temptation of slotting back into the party scene. Time will tell if he's truly committed to being the best he can be.

Fremantle wanted Polak to stay, but he said trade me to Richmond or I'll go into the pre-season draft.
