Speaking of which, Carltons fanta pants was rumoured to have been in Freo in the past week having talks. I wonder if this has anything to do with Polak? A clean trade for a man struggling to gain weight with a man struggling to lose it.
I hope you're winding us up wombat! Lance goes okay in Victoria because he can read the play and get to the contest. On the wide open spaces of Subiaco he would be knackered by half time.

I only just realised Polak is younger than I originally thought. He dosn't turn 22 until the middle of next year. He lead the team in contested marks the 2 prior seasons to this season and he dosn't even have a built up body so to speak. Lets get him some muscle first, teach him how to hold his ground. In my opinion, having either Parker or Haddril in a mentor role for Polak would be fantastic. Maybe even if we could somehow pursuade an ex great to come in and mentor him. Some of the things that Polak lacks can easily be taught. Wouldn't mind someone teaching him some sprint techniques as well. Apparently our ex fitness coach neglected a lot of our players. I'd say Polak was one of those players that could have used Larcums attention

Sounds like someone should be yelling 'amen brother!' after each of your sentences.

Ray is very highly regarded. Player A who plays for your team will always be better simply because the player is from your team.

Polak has stagnated... badly in my opinion. My opinion is also that we should keep him. But right now he would be traded on hype and promise and not too much else.
AMEN !! Keep him i say. Though for the right player i'd be tempted to throw his name about to see who bites.

It is not unusual for a young player (and some not so young) to "stagnate" for a time before taking the next step.

Justin , 211 , Grover are three of ours that come to mind of ours.

Maybe we also need to lower our expectations. We can't expect every player to be a Judd or Pavlich

Finally a bit of sense. Cook had a stellar 2003, and was so off the boil that Bigfooty was full of trading Cook. Then he has a very good 2005.

Players do have bad seasons and then get back on track. Polak has too much talent not to.

Quite the reverse IMO. The Dockers expectations are already too low, along with their confidence and self belief.

But then it's about the journey so I've heard.

Is there much truth in the Hay for Polak trade?
I think a 6'6" former AA FB (and an East Freo boy to boot) would be a very, very welcome addition to our team.

However, I would be hopeful that Polak wouldn't be invloved in the trade. he's only 21, and has shown that when he's injury-free and playing with confidence that he can / will be outstanding. Sure he had a so-so year (at best), but I would hang onto him for at least another 12 months before thinking about trading him away.

Anyone else you might be interested in? Realistically. And no Pav is not available!

Cool, was just wondering because is a lot of talk about Polak for Hay and our 2nd round pick.... Not saying its going to happen, but there is a lot of talk about it. Hay wants to go home, Polak might need a change, and Dockers might trade him, not sure though.

As far as anything else we'd want.... probably a Heath Black type, but of course that isn't going to happen. If we were to trade Hay we'd want to get Polak in return, I realise we'd have to add some picks or a young player to sweaten the deal, but I guess that what the hawks would ask for.

Not sure though, there are rumours North Melbourne want Hay as well. There was something on the hawks board about Fev to Hawthorn, Hay to Roos, Grant to Blues... but its all so far fetched at the moment, hard to really gauge what is happening.

But Hay does prefer it in WA though, so Freo probably might be in the lead to get Hay.
