LOL, it's not going to matter if North Melbourne turn up. The only enemy that Port ever had is itself.

But last week...last week was a four quarter effort. Players were still chasing and harassing opposition players with a minute to go when we were 40+ points in front. Last week was the game I've been waiting for for four years. Because it wasn't a game where we changed our style and caught a team who were expecting us to play one way with something different, which was what happened with Hawthorn in 2015. Instead, it was a game where we played our style of football that we've been trying to play for the first four rounds of the season....except this time, it clicked.

That's the effort of a team that wants to be something greater than the sum of its parts. That's the effort of a premiership team.

The only blip we've had this year was against Richmond in a game that we should have won if we were willing to get in the face of the Tigers instead of letting them dictate the play. And even that game was only a narrow loss.

So you can worry about what happens on Friday night if you like. I'm not. In fact, I hope North Melbourne brings their absolute best effort. It'll be like that guy in Over the Top who got his arm broken, because they'll know that even their absolute best is shit compared to what our players can bring.

I want to destroy the Shinboner spirit and eat the souls of the North Melbourne players.
Well what can I say it’s a pleasant turn around from last weeks calls for Egyptian torture !!

Yeah those stats kinda blow my theory out the water lol.

Though it might be interesting to adjust it for time with the oppo in possession.

But given your posession adjusted stats that is unlikely to make a difference either.

I think our opponents are probably credited with a lot of pressure acts when we're in full control in a handball chain that eventually finds us space on the outside.

We effectively draw pressure acts to create space.

Nobody would look at last week's game and feel that West Coast played better pressure footy.

Watching Demons come out on fire tonight after being totally ridiculed by the media this week. Yes I am concerned about our game now. North won’t be a pushover.
Such a scrappy, ugly game to watch!

I'm actually feeling confident that we'll win against North Melbourne. Recently we have a great record against them and Westhoff is overdue for a stand out game. If North come out hard we have to match their intensity.

North are getting smashed in the media this week.

Don’t like it. They’ll come out strong with a point to prove.

Mind you, Melbourne had a point to prove tonight, but fell well short. If we maintain the manic pressure from last week, we should be OK.

I'm pragmatic about North having a point to prove.

If we can be beaten by a far inferior side simply because they have their backs against the wall, then we've learned nothing and we're not a legitimate contender anyway. It'll be frustrating but i'm not going to let Ken Hinkley's Port Adelaide hurt me like this again, not until we've proved ourselves

I'm still well and truly at the "I'll believe it when I see it" stage with this team. Last Friday was a good start but it's one game and we've seen it all before. My expectations still remain that we could lose to anyone, anywhere, anytime. Until we string together a consistent block of 5-6 strong performances, including being consistently difficult to beat at home, no faith is warranted.

I am sure Scott will be getting as much intel as he can on our players from Pittard and Polly.
Fortunately the way we play and personnel has changed a fair bit.
